Middle House

Our 2nd meal in the last few months and once again we weren’t disappointed ! My wife and I firstly snacked on olives then both had a lovely main course then shared a dessert. We washed it down with a lovely pint of real ale from the local Wensleydale brewery and a glass of Pinot rose. Everything was fairly priced and we will definitely be returning !

We ate here two evenings in a row, we were that impressed the first time we went. The service was great and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. The choice of food was great, very well presented and tasted delicious. The restaurant is fairly small, but perfect for us, who prefer cosier venues. It is easy to find, being on the main street in Askrigg village. The car park is fairly small, and street parking is limited, however we were fine both times. Lovely place, we recommend it!

Nestled in the heart of the Dales, this place is an absolute gem for a staycation. The rooms are exceptionally clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The linens are luxurious, and the showers are divine! The simple and effective way of ordering more items for the room, like toilet rolls, tea/coffee clean towels etc is something we think more hotels should do. It’s a great idea. We have the best view from our room, and we love to unwind in our tub chairs by the window in the evenings. Breakfast is included and comprehensive, making it a hassle-free experience. The place has a very fancy feel to it, and very atmospheric and the attention to detail is obvious throughout. The food is incredible, the meat is locally sourced and my husband tells me it’s amazing (I don’t eat meat) We have even met people who, when they hear where we are staying, say they’ve eaten there and their food was outstanding, one gentleman said it’s the best he has ever had! The menu is very varied, meaning there’s sure to be something for even the fussiest of tastes We literally have no complaints, it’s everything we could want in a place to stay, but I cannot go without mentioning the owners and staff. They are professional to the nth degree but so kind, helpful and welcoming. I truly do recommend it!! We can’t stop rebooking because we love it so so much!!

Just excellent all round. The staff are friendly and take time to chat. The food is excellent at night and the breakfast is yum. Try the full Yorkshire. Rooms are spotless and have everything you need. The hotel has been decorated well with a real family atmosphere. We have stayed 4 times know and booked again before we left for october it's just such a relaxing place to stay.

This is a lovely hotel in the middle of Asrigg. The staff are very welcoming, The food is delicious and the bedroom was spotlessly clean and comfortable. There is plenty of parking at the hotel. A big bonus in a small village. A great base for touring or walking in Wensleydale and further afield. It is also popular with locals as even on Sunday night the bar was packed with people having an early evening drink. There is a beer garden to the rear and great views over the fells. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

We had a lovely stay. John and the team made us very welcome throughout, the evening meals and breakfasts were delicious, the rooms were comfy. It's a wonderful spot for walking. We used the local bus service which stops virtually outside and walked home from locations up and down the valley - with the prospect of a hot bath at the end. Brilliant!
