"Ouf, what a hidden gem! The bungalows at Purwa Ijen are top-notch, offering an amazing value for money. It is located in a super authentic, small and peaceful village with beautiful views and lush vegetation (besides all the rice fields). Our highlight was the breakfast, where we got the best smoothie bowl on our whole trip through Indonesia. The Ijen tour (500K) was also an unbeatable price. Transfer to the Bali ferry for 200K was also affordable. We especially loved the spacious bathroom and the comfy terrace with jungle and ricefield view. IMHO Purwa Ijen is one of the best value accommodation you can find in the Ijen area, highly recommended. WiFi also worked like a breeze."

The hotel has a transfer service to the foot of the volcano and back; they provide a respirator, a flashlight and a bottle of water. Very nice staff! Beautiful landscape and pool, spacious rooms. Delicious and varied breakfast. All liked it!"

"Went here with my husband and 1 kid under 5 years old. Surprisingly, room is spacious enough for three of us! My daughter favorite part is the lamp that can be controlled through the screen and Bobobox app on the phone.
But most of it, is the view that caught our attention. The ambience is also top notch. The secluded locations + silence and sound of nature 👍👍👍"

WwillowmimiThe hotel is very secluded. You have to drive from the main road to the country road and drive on a narrow dirt road for 20 minutes. But it is still a hotel very close to Ijen Volcano. It takes 45-50 minutes to drive from the hotel to the entrance of Ijen Volcano.
The environment is beautiful. When the weather is clear, you can see a volcano in the swimming pool. Although the hotel's catering is not very diverse, the taste is good and the price is moderate. Three meals a day can be satisfied. Fried noodles, oxtail soup, and pasta are recommended. The spa is also worth trying.
There are two types of hotel rooms. The rooms with air conditioning are relatively small. We stayed in a room with a high ceiling, a pointed roof, and no air conditioning. It felt very comfortable. The toilet and shower were outside the room without a roof, which felt quite open.

GGuest UserWhen climbing the Ijen volcano, you usually stay in Banyuwangi, mainly because it is close to the pier, but to climb the volcano you need to get up after 2 o'clock and drive for 2 hours. So when I booked a hotel, I looked at the very famous ijen villa&resort, but later it was all booked. So I happened to be recommended by the app Teras hotel ijen. I saw that the price was 600rmb a night and it was OK, so I made the decision (later I found out that the price had been reduced to 450rmb, which was a huge loss).
The hotel is about 45 minutes away from Banyuwangi Pier, but the location allows you to see the Ijen volcanoes, and there are rice fields and coconut trees outside. The sunset is so beautiful. There are actually several hotels around, as well as a guest house, which costs 200rmb a night. The hotel design is very design-like, similar to domestic boutique hotels, with only one floor of rooms.
Since there are no restaurants around the hotel, you can basically eat at the hotel. The price is not expensive, only 50rmb per person, which is really cheap.
However, there is a small cafe when you go down the alley from the hotel and turn right on the main road. A few young people are relatively new to making drinks, but the photos are beautiful. I recommend everyone to check it out.
Then there is a guest house next to the hotel, where you can also drink coffee. It is surrounded by rice fields, which is also suitable for watching the sunset. Staying in the entire hotel was very relaxing and there was no sense of pressure.
The biggest problem with Teras Hotel is that transportation is inconvenient. You can't get Grab here. Only the hotel has a taxi phone number. Going to the pier is twice as expensive and the asking price is 250k. There is no other choice but to leave.
Also, if you sign up for a group tour to climb Ijen, it is not available here. The hotel will provide a contact person to discuss it yourself. Basically, a car costs 1,700k, including guide and tickets. We will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the pier at the end. The price is slightly expensive, but it is acceptable, and it is okay for three or four people to carpool.
In short, in ijen, it is highly recommended to stay here for one more day to relieve the fatigue of the special forces trip.
