The Arundell

What a friendly hotel so kind and great with our little dogs. Our room was well furnished and so quiet away from traffic not that there was much. We love Lifton for the walks and it is within distance of Padstow Looe and Bude. And if you want shops, Tavistock is the place to go. Well worth a relaxing visit. Thank you to Arabella and Simon.

Beautiful place, tasteful and comfortable surroundings. Staff is very warm, welcoming and incredibly helpful. The Arundel Arms cider is definitely the best cider out there. Food is delicious and plentiful. Must mention the coffee, it’s so good! We stop at Arundel Arms whenever we can, everything there is just right!

On this occasion we visited this hotel simply to enjoy a light refreshment in pleasant and most comfortable surroundings. We were made very welcome and shown to the lounge. The service was excellent, as was the food and drink. We live locally and have no reason to book a room, but I can highly recommend their restaurant.

This is the first time we have had Afternoon Tea here and it was so lovely. We had to take some of our food home with us as we had so almost too much but it was all delicious. Staff as always so helpful and we love that there is an always a log fire! We will be back!

As all reviews, this is purely based subjectivity on our visit, and is likely not to reflect experiences of other diners. We live locally, and went for an impromptu Dinner last night. Got shown to our table for two in the Dining room (booking 6pm and we were only people there). I asked the waiter if we could please move to a more discreet table (as we were in what may have been a busy area). He replied that they were fully booked and the allocated table was the only viable option). The menu was printed on a tri-fold glossy format, and not as previously on a more traditional and bespoke A4 classic page. The Pork Chop I had was well cooked, and perhaps over trimmed (based on previous visits) and the accompanying “Slaw” a little dry for my taste. My Partners Burger was well constructed and seasoned well. Our waiter when adding extra cutlery lent access my partner when placing her soup spoon. Overall things were very different to previous experiences at the Arundell Incidentally, by the time we’d finished and settled our bill, there was only one other couple that had been seated for Dinner (our earlier request could (I believe) have been met.

It is always a wonderful experience visiting The Arundell Arms in Lifton. All of the team are incredibly welcoming, friendly & helpful. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and well sized, with a coffee maker & tea making facilities. You can eat for dinner in either the bar area or restaurant, I have always found the food to be of a high standard, both dinner & breakfast. The garden to the rear in the summer is lovely for terrace drinks, in the winter there is a very comfortable lounge area. I do not fly fish, but if I did, & plan to at some point as it's on my bucket list, I would come here as I know they have both private fishing areas and also run courses. There is ample parking & not that I do, but if you have an electric vehicle, there are multiple Tesla chargers. Whilst when on business I do not pay for my rooms, I think the circa £150 per night is competitive given the high standards.
