This was a nostalgic return to us to a hotel we stayed in a few years ago and really enjoyed at the time, particularly for its food. The rooms have been updated since and were very good for the price (€85); the room we were in retained its traditional, rather old-fashioned style but the bathroom, reworked, had an exceptional and powerful shower. The owner was as welcoming as our earlier visit. The restaurant, however, was a total disappointment. The food was served luke warm and lacked skill; we both left more than we ate. There was a sense of food that had been cooked earlier and rearmed, not altogether successfully. The excellent food we remembered was just that - a memory. All rather sad, even if we understand the difficulties the hospitality sector are experiencing, particularly in getting staff.

The hotel is small and family run in the village of Ligny-le-Chatel. It has 15 rooms and is often full. Parking is possible either in the internal courtyard area, or on the quiet street outside. The rooms are quite basic, have old furniture, not ideal for working, but are clean and the bathrooms are modern. The free Wifi worked well. However the best part of the hotel is the food and staff. The dinner and breakfast were both of a high quality for the cost, and the reception staff very welcoming and happy to help in anyway they can. If in the area, I would definitely stay here again

Très bel établissement comme il en existe encore en France. Accueil chaleureux, le restaurant, alors là, le régal des papilles. Une cuisine de terroir, excellente. Les plats sont copieux, faits maison Le petit déjeuner est complet, et là aussi les produits sont de qualité.

Le cadre est charmant Une décoration de la chambre certes un peu datée mais d’un confort irréprochable. L’accueil est très agréable ainsi que l’ensemble du personnel. Le restaurant est de très bonne qualité et d’un excellent rapport qualité prix.

Très bonne table très bon plats copieux vin un peu cher , personnel très agréable, petit déjeuner très copieux du salé et du sucré ,chambre tout comfort un peu vieillot mais super literie. Je conseille fortement.

Une très bonne soirée étape. Le dîner, avec le choix de 3 entrées, 3 plats et 2 desserts est copieux, mais surtout très bon. Le prix des vins est correct. Bonne literie, et grande salle d’eau neuve avec grande douche italienne. Lors d’un prochain passage à Auxerre, je sais où réserver.

Accueil cordial . Chambre spacieuse et fonctionnelle mais au décors un peu dépassé … Le mitigeur de la salle de bain n’est pas très pratique . Sinon, on a apprécié la tranquillité du lieu . Enfin , le prix du petit-déjeuner nous semble très élevé .

Pour notre anniversaire de mariage nous nous sommes retrouvés dans cet établissement avec notre famille et des amis. Nous avons tous passé un excellent séjour. La salle de restaurant avait été privatisée pour cette occasion. Le repas a été succulent avec des produits du terroir frais et de saison (ce que nous recherchions). Les chambres sont confortables et parfaitement équipées. Excellent accueil de toute l'équipe de l'établissement.
