Ibis Lille Centre Grand Place

The hotel is in a great location,close to restaurants and shops and around 15 minutes walk from the railway stations.Sadly that is one of the few good things about it.On entering you are greeted by the overwhelming smell of drains which didn’t give a great first impression.The room was absolutely tiny,though clean and comfortable. It was overlooking the street,so there were issues with noise which made sleeping difficult.Breakfast was ok, but the choice of food was somewhat limited (basically bread and cheese) and the dining room was quite cramped and reminiscent of a school canteen. I enjoyed the quality tea provided though.As we only stayed one night it was an alright place to stay,but if I were to return to Lille I would choose a different hotel.

It is difficult to recommend this hotel. It is close to the centre, but the public car park recommended is actually opposite an Ibis Styles which looks like a better option. The car park is tight and the reserved places are on the 4th floor. The reception area and upstairs corridors smelt of drains. The windows have air vents and therefore noise from outside disturbs your sleep and there are no options to close them. Additionally, it appeared that several of the guests were craftsmen and came home late and left early. The hotel has been built in an old building and the rooms have a strange layout. The room price did not represent value for money.

This hotel is all about the location. It’s perfect right in the centre with access to the Grande Place and old Town Lille. Plenty of restaurants near by and friendly staff. Sometimes all you want is a place to lay your head and we found the bed comfortable. The room clean and a fantastic view out of the front with an unexpected balcony. Even better it’s cheap!

Clean room in a perfect location for us, right in the old town with many restaurants and shops. Considering it had three beds there was not much space and TV which we did not use would have been difficult to see from the single bed it was good. The toilet room was big, but a sink for hand washing missing which was on the other side of the room. We slept with open window as we we don’t like ACs. People with slighter sleep might find the outside noise from people annoying. The beds are nice and comfortable. Breakfast was quite good for this type of hotel. We’ll set up to start a good day. Very friendly helpful staff throughout. When I go back it would be my choice again.
