Cottages at Little River Cove

The Jenner cottage was a good size for two people. It was very clean. Upstairs there is a large bedroom with comfy king bed, window seat and a deck. We enjoyed great views of the ocean and colorful sunset sky. The view is better outside near the fire pit. The bedroom has several skylights through which the full moon shined. Downstairs is the small kitchen, table & chairs, sofa, window seat, tv and gas fireplace. The fireplace is the main source of heat. An electric radiator heater is also provided. We enjoyed the complementary wine and coffee. The location is great; very close to Mendocino and several state parks. The Mendocino Botanical Gardens and Cabrillo Point lighthouse are a short drive to the north. It would have been perfect if the following had been provided: Pillows and throw blanket for the very uncomfortable sofa, More decorations (only one picture on wall), dish drainer rack (unfortunately there is no dishwasher), more bath towels (they quickly provided 2 more upon request), better signage (the name of the cabin is not visible from the driveway), stronger Wi-Fi.

The location is wonderful. We had a great view of the Pacific Ocean from our cottage. The property is very nice for dogs with a grassy area for them to explore. Our plan is to return in the fall for another visit. The cottages are close to the Van Damn State Park and beach and the town of Mendocino.

Visited this place recently (9/24) with my girlfriend and two dogs as this was advertised as dog friendly. Cute property with nice little cottages. The property was nice, quiet and somewhat cozy with a relaxing fire pit to end the night with. The bad: -This place prides itself on being “eco” friendly and in being so they supply you with onlyTWO thin thin thin bath towels that will leave you pulling fuzzies from in-between your toes and between your butt for days after leaving. I wouldn’t even clean the rims of my truck with these towels. We ended up going to the nearby story to buy better towels. “Smaller towels to use less water to clean” they say. - All shower heads have been replaced with low flow shower heads that display 1.5gpm but are barely 1gpm. Good luck trying to take a decent shower. - The towels combined with the cold trickle showers made bathing not fun. - the grass in the middle of the property For your dogs has been let to die. They’ve stopped watering awhile ago. Pretty disappointing for us and our dogs. - all of our toilets were low-flow toilets and both were broken with instructions to hold both high and low flow buttons to flush thus wasting more water. - Kitchen utensils looked as if they were bought at the goodwill. Pretty dismal. All cookware had peeling Teflon coating that would have gotten into our food. We ended up buying a cast iron skillet with our towels and used that for everything we cooked. We should have left it as it was cheap. - Upon calling to confirm the arrival of our dogs for the dog “amenities” i had requested no treats and no bowls as we had our own. Hoping that we’d still get the dog beds and other gifts we got nothing. For what was paid for our stay, we should have stayed a mile down the road and would have gotten a better experience in our opinion. Hoping the management will reply to our emails .

We had a one-night stopover; I only wish we could stay longer to more thoroughly enjoy everything this place has to offer. Comfortable, spacious junior suite, fantastic breakfast, super efficient staff, gorgeous gardens. We loved it, and I hope to return one day.

Our stay here was absolutely amazing! There were so many nice, cozy touches that made it feel like home. The view was phenomenal and we enjoyed the deck/patio. It was clean and close to town. Check in/out was a breeze. We will definitely be coming back!

Had a wonderful stay to celebrate a milestone birthday. The cottage was spacious and had everything we needed. The coffee provided and the gift of a bottle of wine was a nice touch. Very close to great hiking trails and a 6 minute drive to town. Would not hesitate to return.
