If you are looking for an authentic Greek experience, Mouikis Sun Village will not disappoint. Situated between the mountains and the sea, it is a quiet tranquil location. A little isolated for some, but with a car main attractions are easily accessed. Antonis the “boss” is very helpful and provides transport when he can, at a reduced cost, and the lovely receptionist (I don’t know how to spell her name !)will phone for taxis if you ask. Rooms are basic, but our room was beautifully decorated, in modern, restful colours, spotlessly clean, with a lovely view. Beds comfortable, bedding and towels changed daily. A small kitchenette provided everything you need to prepare snacks. The pool area is clean, with beautiful sea views, and often stunning sunsets to enjoy . The staff at Mouikis Sun Village made our holiday. Every single staff member was kind, cheerful, helpful, doing everything they could to give us a relaxing experience. The food was very good. We found the ample main meals too much for us, and ordered two or three starters between us for our dinner. Beautiful pizzas and eye wateringly fresh salads provided a good lunch . Try Annie’s smoothies too. yummy. with a glass of wine on the terrace. A few issues stopped a five star review for me. The bathroom and shower very small, and some outside areas are in need of a little TLC. This was not a problem for me as I had fun re -designing in my mind, and I liked the concept of rooms in a village square sort of setting, but for some it could be. It is clear efforts at refurbishment is an ongoing process. The airport runway is close, but I did not find it intrusive at all. Plenty of sun beds, and parasols although some need renewal. Would I go to Mouikis Sun Village again? Absolutely.

Lovely location with amazing views. Accommodation lovely and staff always really helpful. And lovely swimming pool. We found it was helpful to have a car so we could visit other parts of this lovely island and beaches. Will be back. Thankyou

Location is fairly remote, but on the road to Argostoli. Very quiet, peaceful place with views to the mountains one side and the sea the other. (Also the airport, but far enough away that there was not much noise). Rooms and public areas spotless and well maintained, but some areas could benefit from repainting. Lovely pool. Simple restaurant area serving basic dishes. (Anna makes the best coffee in the Ionian sea). Staff efficient and friendly. 2 restaurants within 2Km, but prepare for the walk back up the hill. (Byrons was excellent) Recommend a car to enjoy the area properly.

We recently spent a week at the Mouikis Sun Village and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The rooms are simply furnished but are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bathroom is the smallest bathroom I've ever seen so showering was interesting but it was very clean and ample for our needs. We had a small kitchen in our studio. Enough for us to make tea and coffee and our lunches but we didn't cook a main meal. The pool is quite large and is cleaned daily. There are plenty of sunbeds and the atmosphere in the communal areas is one of relaxation. The views, across the airport and beyond to the sea are wonderful and a light onshore breeze kept the pool area cool. There is no public transport, so trips from here are by car or by taxi. We decided to do neither. Zakinthra is a short(ish) walk and there are a few eateries and a supermarket there. The walk to the minimarket took us 20 minutes each way and they had everything we needed. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast was ample - English breakfast/continental breakfast/fruit and yoghurt with tea/coffee. We ate in Zakinthra a couple of evenings but frankly the food at the hotel was more than acceptable. Not a huge menu, but everything we had was freshly prepared and very enjoyable. Greek Meze for two and Souvlaki being our favourites. It's certainly a wonderful spot to eat, watching the sunset and the lights come on around the island as the light fades is lovely. If I had anything negative to say about the hotel, it would be that there is some airport noise, though it can be quite addictive watching planes landing and taking off and the road which runs past the hotel is quite busy so again, some traffic noise. It did not spoil our holiday one jot. We had a fabulous time and would happily go to the Mouikis Sun Village again.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at The Mouikis Sun Village, on arrival the rooms are dated but spotlessly clean and cleaned/fresh towels daily so were fine. We travelled as a couple and generally go away for rest and relaxation and this place was perfect for this as it is away from the commercial areas, the hotel reception isn't always manned and there isn't any information on any kind of local travel for those wanting to go sight seeing and don't have a car so would advise doing some research before going as there isn't much around the hotel that is easily accessible on foot. We found the food and drink to be of a good standard and reasonably priced with exceptionally good service all day, the evening staff were not as attentive as Anna who worked really hard all day. The pool area is clean with good access to sun loungers all day, there are the most amazing sun sets from this area too. You are over looking the airport but we didn't find any issues with this as there are no night flights and the airport is small so there aren't too many flights and we quite enjoyed watching the planes take off and land. We would definitely go back here as it was very reasonably priced.

Be careful showering the whole bathroom will flood because of how little space there is in the shower, there is no cleaning service to wash your sheets or clean room you have to personally ask the front desk, you are overlooking an airport

Well what can I say. A lovely friendly hotel that I would recommend to both friends and family. Pool area is beautiful with views over Kefalonia airport runway and amazing sunsets. Room was clean with comfortable beds and adequate shower room. Food and drinks are good. Im not really sure what hotel the last review was commenting on but it certainly wasn't this one. 4 stars purely for the location.. To visit other parts of the island a car is essential, although the owner is happy to take you to beaches and trips at a small fee (cheaper than a taxi).
