The accommodation impresses with its cleanliness, central location, and friendly staff. Guests appreciate the well-stocked breakfast and comfortable, spacious rooms. Some prefer the hot breakfast over the drinks.

I have visited so many Travelodge hotels in the past, thus I basically know what to expect form them. In general I find them very good, however, I have noticed a few problems in the rooms which I will tell the staff about when I leave. During my latest visit to Liverpool I found the room clean, tidy, and as usual the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Why they have so many hotels called Central in Liverpool can be somewhat confusion, however, I soon found the correct one. Being my first time in Liverpool I had to endure a journey of 5.5 hours on a train that did not even have USB connections. I thought this would be normal nowadays, but I suppose 'Profit Before Comfort' was probably the saying for this train company. On my first night I started to sense a strange type of smell in the room, which became even worse on the second night. I would wake up with a stinging throat, and sensed it was either a cleaner used in the room, or the bed linen had not been rinsed properly. I told a member of staff as I was leaving to investigate Liverpool, as I would be staying at the hotel for another 3 days. She said “We will change you to another room”, then checked the computer. “We only have a slightly larger room available, would that be okay”. I said “Yes”, then she said, “You can move your luggage in now as it is already ready for a guest”. So I did so. The room also had a much better view which was a bonus. It felt much better as well with a cleaner atmosphere. The one factor I noticed in both rooms was that although the TV's were of different makes, they both had the same 3rd party make of remote control. Being used to using remotes that came will a TV make, it soon became obvious to me that these remotes did not allow all of the searching techniques available on the originals. It became a real bind searching back and forth, however, Liverpool had a lot to offer at night so I took advantage of this. There were a couple of problems with the new room which I pointed out as I left, the toilet seat was loose and kept moving to one side, and some of the little milk capsules had solidified, but other that than the new room was of a much better standard than the first one I experienced. Of course all the staff I came in contact with where very good, and helpful. I once visited the Travelodge in Battersea, London, and made a short video about my experience, The Tomb of Battersea. I had to use a glove to even touch the remote control, I never saw or heard anyone else in the hotel, except one single person. I had to ring a number as I entered the hotel, whereupon a man came down and gave me an old fashion card ticket with holes punched in it. I though I had entered a time warp. In general I find Travelodge a good hotel, although there are a few changes I would make it I was running the company.
