Rarely have I experienced such first class service as that offered at Bodysgallen Hall. From the initial booking enquiry, the personal and warm greeting at Reception, the luggage porter, bar and restaurant service and chambermaid - every member of staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable and comfortable. The Hall itself is stunning: an old family home brought thoroughly up to date but still retaining the air of an elegant country house. Beautiful furnishings, fresh flowers everywhere, a wide choice of comfortable lounges, some with real fires, and a stunning dining room, with views towards Conwy Castle. The food is also first class, with a small but carefully chosen menu based on fresh local produce. An excellent wine list complements the dining experience. The Spa is located about 100 metres from the main building, down a steep path. It too is beautiful, with a comprehensive range of treatments available, plus a gym, decent sized 1.4m deep pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna cabin. These facilities are free to guests, but you can get annual membership to the Spa as well, if you're local. The Hall is not really suitable for those with restricted mobility, as there are steps everywhere, and no lift. But it's a unique place, and we'll certainly be coming back - if only to experience the extensive gardens (not great in Welsh rain!).
