Wonderful Valentines weekend stay. We were very lucky & were upgraded to a room with stunning view over the garden with the hugest bed. The public areas have so many treasures to view with huge fireplaces & lots of comfy seating to relax in. Lovely walks around garden & outer wooded area. All staff very attentive & made you feel at home. The valentines meal was the best food & atmosphere made for a romantic evening. Breakfast also very good with plenty of choice. The spa was also exceptional. Definitely will return.

What a beautiful gem nestled in North Wales. We had no idea what to expect but exceeded expectations! We had afternoon tea by the fireplace and the scones were delicious. Staff were extremely kind and always checked in on us. The rooms were comfortable and we had a stunning view of Conwy Castle. A stunning setting both indoor and outdoor, incredible food and overall a must stay in North Wales. We are already looking to book our next visit!

We stayed for 2 nights in the main house. Everything ran perfectly, checking staff very welcoming , Gareth (I think) took our bags up and showed us around. He also ran the bar, and pretty much everything ! Our room was nice and spacious, everything you needed was there. Good to have little bottle of proper milk, not nasty UHT tubs for the tea/coffees. We did think the room was too hot, even after turning off the radiator and opening the double glazing, thankfully there was A/C which we did need. The shower over the (old) bath was quite tricky, have to get right in then attempt to get the temperature right . Breakfast was excellent, self service cereals and fruit, then individually cooked gorgeous big Welsh breakfast, or whatever you wanted . Lovely loose leaf tea, good coffee. The lounges around the house are all lovely to sit and chill in, with good open fires blazing . We ate both evenings in the restaurant, a bit disappointing that the menu was the same both nights, but the food was lovely. All the staff are excellent, big smiles and greetings when you walk in, top service throughout . The gardens, maintained by the National Trust are just beautiful, even in February. We happily wandered around both days. We also enjoyed a longer 6mile walk from the hotel , taking in the obelisk and beyond. We’d read about the 12th century tower, and after asking about it, were allowed up with a member of the maintenance team. Stunning views from the top even on a murky day. Very step stone steps. Fantastic stay in a stately home, with the best staff.

If you visit National Trust properties like my wife and I do this is a must stay because not only can you sit on the chairs you feel like you live in one of these properties with staff to attend to your every need. A truly luxurious experience for lovers of old houses. A couple of negatives: It's not cheap but it is worth it. The food is excellent but there is no background music in the dining room so the atmosphere is very stiff and quiet.

We had a lovely holiday here in early January. We really appreciated having a room upgrade as it was quiet. The hotel is relaxing, with multiple rooms to relax in next to a warm fire place. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast which is table service. There are numerous walks around the grounds and the spa is very well kept. The light lunches offered in the spa were also delicious and meant we didn't need to leave the hotel all day.

Booked and stayed for 3 nights Thursday 2nd -5th January and thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay. From the initial booking ( taken over the phone and confirmed online with Hayley), to the greeting and help on arrival, and overall during our 3 night stay. Room quality was excellent, remember it is a Grade 1 Listed Building after all! Spa facilities are excellent and whilst there also private members attached to the facility it was never busy. The hotel never felt too busy given there are only 16 rooms, with a number of cottages in the grounds that looked very nice too and we will certainly take a look at these for future stays. Recommend the walk through the grounds and up to the Obelisk on the hill for some great views, take some time to enjoy Conwy and visit the Castle and walk the walls (but beware angry/hungry seagulls so keep your food / ice cream hidden at all times!). Food served was delicious and service excellent at dinner and at breakfast. We will definitely return, as many of the guests staying when we did were returning customers.

Beautiful historic Hall in stunning countryside. We stayed for one night in a very well appointed room. The staff are very friendly and keen to assist. The fine dining was excellent with saddle of rabbit as our main which was exquisite. We would definitely recommend and return for another visit.
