Hotel Don Diego

The hotel is so beautiful with views of Tavolara especially from our terrace. Public areas of the hotel are also beautiful and very quirky. Every one of the staff are a credit to the hotel. Always met with a smile. Just wish we were staying longer than 4 days.

We regularly visit Italy, at least twice a year and have stayed at lots of lovely hotels. However, the Don Diego has to be the best!! The resort is a series of low level italian style buildings which give it a cosy feeling and the decor is upmarket, but still in keeping with that homely feel. There is a beautiful private beach, with clear blue water and a harbour where you can rent boats to go to the islands or use their paddleboards and kayaks, which are free. The beautiful pool and surrounding gardens are very well kept (by the pool man) and there is an adequate gym and table tennis table, if you need a break from the sun. I should add the pool is much larger than it looks on the website and good for swimming lengths, if that's your thing. Whilst all of the above make this hotel great, what makes it the best is the wonderful staff. Every time you enter the hotel, you are greeted with friendly smiles and a warm welcome from the amazing reception staff. Tiziana, Sabrina, Teresa and Claudia are a credit to this hotel, they are so friendly and helpful and were extremely patient with my very poor use of Italian. In a way it is harsh to mention individuals as ALL the staff were fantastic, however one other person stood out and that was our breakfast waiter Aldo. His care and attention to our needs was exemplary and he was so engaging with us and all the customers, he made a great breakfast experience, even better! We rarely return to the same hotel, but we will definitely return to the Hotel Don Diego, thanks for an amazing holiday!

This spectacular hotel was perfect in every way. The front desk ladies were helpful, friendly, and excellent. The restaurant served a wonderful dinner and breakfast was everything you could ask for. It is definitely the place to stay if you are in this area. The views are unbeatable with a nice beach and pool as well.

The Don Diego is a comfortable older luxury resort-style hotel in a unique amazing location overlooking Isolotto Rosso. Rooms are all located in the hillside around the hotel building housing the reception, lounges, excellent restaurant, and pool. Rooms are large with most balconies facing the wonderful view, well furnished, and air-conditioned. Good range of options for breakfast in the restaurant. Lovely small uncrowded beach directly beside the hotel.

We loved our 2 week holiday to the fabulous ‘Hotel Don Diego’. The setting is stunning, staff are welcoming, friendly and go beyond expectations. Rooms were charmingly ‘quirky’, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Food was amazing - both breakfast and evening meals. Great variety using fresh products. The kayaks were great to have available and the powerboat (bookable via reception)- with a 4 hour hire we did Tavolara, Molara (stopped for a snorkel in the natural pool which was phenomenal) and along the coast to Brandinchi and finished with a swim at LaCinta. We enjoyed having a hire car to do a bit of visiting of the area. We were sad to leave and will certainly be back!
