Holiday Inn Express LONDON - LIMEHOUSE by IHG

The hotel's location is convenient, about a 7-8 minute walk from the subway station. There are also parking spaces right outside, and the nearby alleys are great for exploring, plus there's a charming community cafe shaped like a yurt.

I had a good stay at this hotel. The location is ideal, right next to the metro and a large boulevard with tons of restaurants and shops. The breakfast is so-so... typical English breakfast, you know... 🫩...

On my first night, everything in my room was fine except for a problem with the air conditioning. It kept making a very strange and incredibly loud noise, which prevented me from sleeping properly. The next morning, I had to go to the front desk to switch rooms, but then I had to wait until 2:00 PM to check in again. Honestly, the new room wasn't as good as the first one. It felt a bit old and the bathroom's exhaust fan constantly smelled of smoke. To top it off, the fire alarm went off at 11:00 PM that night – everything was just so bizarre. Plus, the third floor was very noisy, and I'm not sure why; it seemed like the staff were living there. The lighting in my room was also faulty, flickering between dim and bright. The pictures are of my first room, which looked much newer and brighter.

The shampoo and body wash provided in the room are the biggest letdown. The body wash and hand soap are a 2-in-1, which always leaves you feeling not quite clean. The shampoo makes your hair dry and tangled, and there's no conditioner available. Plus, compared to other Holiday Inns, they don't even use Dove products. The breakfast and other facilities are decent, but the shampoo really affected my entire day's experience.

Close to the DLR and with multiple bus routes to the tourist areas, the surrounding environment also has its highlights, especially being right by the River Thames. It would be even better if there were more breakfast options 🙂

This was the first hotel for our family's UK trip. After much deliberation, we chose this Holiday Inn Express which is quite close to the city center. The location is excellent, with easy access to the subway, buses, and trains. The hotel maintained the consistent quality of the Holiday Inn brand. We were also lucky enough to snag a group deal that included parking and some meals. A special thank you goes to Christina, a kind and patient lady who speaks Chinese. Due to the high demand for rooms on the weekend and our first-time use of a Ctrip hotel group coupon, the check-in process was a bit convoluted, but the final outcome was very satisfying. Our family left London happily to begin the next leg of our journey. BTW, we encountered many odd Indian guests; whether it was in the cramped elevator or at the popular breakfast buffet, they all exuded a strange confidence, as if they owned the place. I wonder who gave them that idea 🤔🤔🤔
