Had high hopes as per reviews but left disappointed.
The room had a drainage smell. We were moved to another room on the same floor (LG), which unfortunately had the same smell, though less prominent.
The single mattress in the first room felt like sleeping on the floor. When we went upstairs to request a different room, the receptionist assured us the mattresses were recently changed; this could be true but was not our experience.
The AC did not work as it was locked at 23C. When we complained, the receptionist told us to keep the window open and it should sort itself out (sure, but really?). Furthermore, we asked for extra water bottles, and were told they don't provide extra.
We were woken up at 7 AM due to construction right behind our room. When we shared our experience with reception, they said "no one else complained about the noise."
Overall, the reception staff in the morning were dismissive of our complaints and feedback.
This is not a 4-star property.

I would like to give special thanks to Miss Kavita from this hotel. This is my second time choosing to stay here, and the reason is completely because of her kindness.
The first time I came, I had not booked in advance and the rooms were already full. It was very late and I was exhausted. Miss Kavita noticed my situation and kindly made great efforts to arrange a room for me so that I could stay. When I had difficulties with payment, she patiently assisted me until the process was completed.
Besides, the hotel itself is very clean and comfortable, but what truly impressed me and made me come back again is Miss Kavita’s genuine kindness. She made me feel that this is not only a hotel, but also a place full of care and warmth.

We arrived in London after a long 3-hour journey. Check-in wasn’t until 4pm, which was fine, so we spent the day exploring before returning around 4:40pm. First impressions were good: the hotel was easy to find, the reception looked classy, the air con in the lobby was refreshing, and the receptionist was welcoming.
Unfortunately, our lower ground room was very disappointing. As soon as we opened the door, we were hit with a strong damp smell, and the room was unbearably hot. The space was snug but adequate with four beds, however the cleanliness was poor — mould and bubbling paint on the ceiling, hair around the sink, and dirty tiles in the bathroom.
That night the heat became unbearable. The air conditioning was broken, confirmed by staff, but despite being told they would update us, no solution came. We barely slept, taking turns cooling down in the hallway.
The next evening we were finally moved to a top-floor room, which was a huge improvement: clean, spacious, comfortable beds, and working air con. It was very clear that the upper floors are maintained to a much higher standard than the lower ground rooms.
On check-out, management apologised, explained the lower ground was undergoing deep cleaning (which explained the smell), and kindly offered us a free continental breakfast. While appreciated, it’s concerning that these rooms are still being booked despite the known issues. They really should not be in use until the problems are fully resolved.
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, but the first night truly impacted our stay and made our trip more difficult than it needed to be. Although £230 for two weeknights is reasonable for London, the conditions of that first room were unacceptable.

The hotel was great. It had two single beds and one double bed. Everything was spotless, and they even provided coffee, tea, and biscuits for breakfast.

This is the best choice for a solo traveler on a budget. It's close to the station and bus stop, and also near a main street, so I felt safe going out at night. There are many bakeries and restaurants on the street in front of the station, so finding food was no problem. However, the room was small, as expected for the price, and there were some ongoing renovations, which are typical reasons for the lower cost. The shower worked fine, and it was perfectly adequate for sleeping.

I had a very disappointing experience with Bayswater Inn, not because of one mistake, but because of how it was handled afterward.
During my stay, I ordered food to the hotel. The delivery service later provided photo proof that the order was delivered to the reception desk, yet the food was never brought to my room and effectively went missing. Despite this, hotel staff initially denied receiving it.
I contacted the hotel multiple times with evidence and was told the issue would be escalated and that the General Manager would call me the following morning. That call never happened. I received no follow-up, no explanation, and no resolution unless I continued to chase them myself.
This left me without food for an extended period late at night and forced me to spend time repeatedly contacting staff just to be heard. A simple reimbursement for food I never received turned into a drawn-out, frustrating experience due to poor internal communication and lack of accountability.
The location is convenient, but customer service and management follow-through are severely lacking. If something goes wrong during your stay, be prepared to advocate hard for yourself.
They didn’t even refund me for my food at the end, Trip.com had to step in and refund me from their own expenses. If I could give it a lower rating I definitely would.
