Malliouhana Resort Anguilla

We used to come here in the late 80's with my family and it is nice to know it's still here and still lovely. Many renovations have been made to the entry way, dining, pool, etc. We came here for Christmas dinner and found a lovely spot near the beach to renew our 20th anni vows. We then sat outside the bar to have a cocktail and listen to some live steel drum music which was a slice of heaven for me having grown up coming to the islands and loving this music. The cocktails were delicious, setting lovely, sunset beautiful - only drawback was just the service but easily forgivable given everything else.

Amazing! Traveled with my husband and adult daughter. The resort is as beautiful as the pictures. Rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable. The view and sunsets from our balcony were spectacular! Pool area is also absolutely amazing. Staff is attentive and helpful. Morning yoga was a little disappointing as it was not in the area depicted in the pictures. Food and drinks were delicious but be prepared for the service charges, taxes and tips for individual servers (island wide-although understandable since everything has to be imported). Still so worth it! As near to the perfect vacation we could get. Hoping to return again in the future!

AMAZING experience!!! They made my birthday so special. Friendly staff and a beautiful room. Relaxing and gorgeous hotel. It was just so perfect. I stayed at other resorts on the island during my stay, but Malliouhana was my favorite out of all of them. I dream of going back soon.

If a sense of place is as important to you as it is to me, look no further than the Malliouhana. Of course the resort is beautiful, but it is the staff that makes it special. Every single person greeted us, and every person we asked said they were from Anguilla, which made me so happy I had selected the Malliouhana because the resort clearly cares about the Anguilla community. This sense of place and family forms a connection between the staff and guests, and made us feel like a cherished relative rather than a paying guest. I almost hate to say this because we loved that it was empty except for us, but visit the spa pool. The view might be the prettiest at the hotel and you will feel as though it was created just for you.

The staff at Malliouhana was exceptional in every department. From housekeeping to pool/beach attendants to restaurant servers/bartenders and front desk --- staff members did everything with a smile and warm hospitality. The views from the rooms, restaurants and pools were breathtaking, the rooms spacious and comfortable and the food here is delicious. We enjoyed the yoga and fitness class offerings, rides to nearby off site restaurants and the long beach walks along Meads Bay. We'll be back!

Paradise is the only way to describe the experience of staying at this lovely hotel/resort on the wonderfully friendly island of Anguilla. It has a stunning location, perched on a cliff above two bays with what seems like a limitless horizon. Having stayed at other ground-level beach properties, there's something really special about having the loftier perspective. The sunsets were phenomenal. My husband and I just returned from 7 delightful days here and wish we could have stayed even longer. For us, the size of the resort was perfect; not too big. but with plenty of space and activities. In addition to a nice beach set-up, the two pools high above the beach are gorgeous, and there's no jockeying for space, or having to "hold" chairs early in the day as we've found at other resorts. We had an oceanview premium room in the main building and it suited perfectly. Large and very comfortable with a huge terrace (and daybed for lounging) and big bathroom, with double sinks, soaking tub and large, separate shower. Housekeeping was excellent. That brings me to a shout-out to the very special Malliouhana staff. Everyone (too many to name) was friendly, warm, knowledgeable and professional; always happy to share information, recommend places to visit, restaurants (and dishes to order!), answer questions or make suggestions about virtually anything on the island. Their commitment to their guests really stands out. The spa is first-rate, with great treatments. We enjoyed some of the best massages we've ever had. The gym was clean and well-equipped, and there are various yoga and other classes available almost daily. Mead's Bay remains our favorite on the island and we walked the length of it (close to a mile) daily. As a bonus, there are several great restaurants along the beach, all walkable for lunch or dinner. We had an opportunity to visit at least two other popular luxury properties during our week at Malliouhana and in both cases, were extra-glad of our choice -- the optimal combination of size (neither too large or too small), beauty, luxury and comfort. If you can't relax here, you probably can't relax anywhere. We look forward to a return next year.
