Really friendly and helpful staff. Lovely atmosphere and food - pies were lovely and tasty and all food was completely home cooked and very good quality. Bed linen and towels were pristine white and bed was very comfortable and a good king size. We had a peaceful night sleep and thought it was very reasonably priced. Thank you to all the staff

We stayed here overnight in our motor home. Phil, the owner was so welcoming and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing, so good that we actually had breakfast, lunch and dinner here, the pie was definitely award winning. The staff were really friendly, the pub was very clean. Phil recommended we take a walk up May Hill this was a great walk with views over 7 counties at the top, well worth the hike, thank you so much Phil and all your staff for making our stay so lovely.

I'd say, a little expensive, but it wasn't empty and the food didn't disappoint. We arrived without a booking, but they were quite happy to fit us in. They have us fair warning that the kitchen would be closing soon. Fundamentally, apart from the fact that I don't think I'll be by this way again soon, I can't think of anything to complain about.

Absolutely fantastic! I was a little worried because the price was so reasonable, but the rooms were lovely: bed was comfortable, plenty of towels and hot water, and gleamingly clean. The staff are delightful - can't do enough for you, helpful and kind without being intrusive. The pub was lively on a Monday evening, with several booked for dinner -but service was quick and the food was fresh and delicious. The menu is local, and meals are made in the pub kitchen - and it was fabulous. I'm hoping to return for a holiday in the area in future - this will be my first choice. Thanks so much to all excellent team.

We had a very enjoyable stay, the room was comfortable and very quiet, considering how close to the A40 it is. The staff were wonderful and the meal was excellent. The Breakfast Pie was exceptional and the bar is full of atmosphere. We hope to return next time we're walking in the area.

We had a short break this weekend here (5th/6th April) as a belated birthday present for my best mate (Jill Conry), I can't fault this place in any way at all . The Inn itself is a gem and the staff can't do enough for you. As far as the food .... Well I'm an ex chef and I don't say superb lightly, but that sums it up , menu is top notch, food cooked to perfection . Presentation , And all the staff are so good, friendly and polite. A special shout out to Hannah who went over and above ( even though she was under the weather). The rooms are a delight , in a small courtyard that's a sun trap We will certainly be back Highly recommend a stay or pop in for meal ( try the Famous pies)

Was really looking forward to a meal here, but very disappointed. Order was put through wrong by the server, didn't receive puff pastry. Sure, mistakes happen - the menu says 'award winning pies'....who's awarding these pies? £20 each for uncooked pies, side order of peas not cooked all the way through, charged extra for chips when it was already included with the price. Other server on site was helpful and remedied the error from our server - maybe it was an off night in the kitchen? Seems like a lovely place with charming atmosphere, but won't be ordering again. No flare for food, like school dinners. Akin to stodge. Did not taste good.
