I love this hotel I really do so I check in I was there a day I am standing in bathroom mirror brushing teeth I push the plug down the sink fell out onto my feet ! Front desk lady only offered to.change rooms so I did I don’t like to be that person so 2nd room 3rd day staying I kid you not the same thing happened but it didn’t fall on me . I don’t look for free stuff or ever complain but that was crazy ! The next morning I get a phone call from the morning manager very friendly accommodating guy he apologized and comped my stay. I still give it an excellent review because that’s maintenance. It’s the way the night manager treated it.

Right when I got to my room the remote batteries were low the front office wouldn't even answer and I called four times. Then while me and my kids were laying in our bed about 10:00 10:30 p.m. a man walks up in our room. Then we was promised breakfast what did we get down there to find? Cereal and blueberry muffins. Then when we went back up to our room from breakfast we couldn't even get in our room we had to walk all the way back to the office to get another key. The pool was not working it was 30 there was couches sitting all outside of the rooms and it looked homelessly crazy. We didn't even get an apology for any of this. But they sure did get my $92 Plus tax.

Of note – In Longview, there is a Holiday Inn Express North and also a Holiday Inn Express South. This review is for South. Our family of three adults stayed one night in the Holiday Inn Express South on the way to visit family in Texas. The floor plan for our suite allowed each of us to have privacy and a comfortable night’s sleep. Our adult disabled daughter and I each had one of the queen beds in the bedroom, and my husband took the queen bed in the sleeping area that was separated from the sitting area by a half wall. The sitting area was surprisingly roomy and included a nook with a microwave, single-cup Keurig and small refrigerator. Next to this was a generous sized wardrobe with an iron and ironing board and a safe. Between the wardrobe and the dresser/desk was a low shelf suitable for unpacking suitcases, and more clothes hooks above. There was an armchair and an office chair as well as a sleeper sofa so plenty of seating for our party of 3. The bathroom was just inside the entry. Just outside the bathroom was a full-length mirror and a small corner ledge that made a nice landing place for keys when entering the room. The bathroom was clean and basic. The grommets at the top of the shower curtain were plastic and they were cracked and flaking – this could stand to be replaced. The wood on the bottom of the bathroom door on the inside was splitting and worn but didn’t affect the door closing. Blow dryer was suppled and worked. The only problem we encountered was that the room-darkening shade in the bedroom could not be closed. The chain seemed to have come off of the mechanism that drew the shade down (the shade in the sitting area worked fine so we were able to compare how they worked). Fortunately, we didn’t need to sleep late but that might be a problem for other guests. We had breakfast at the breakfast bar and each found something to our liking, although I would probably return to Cracker Barrel if I wanted something more substantial. Coffee was good and easily available. Interestingly, we noticed that the outdoor pool had a handicap-accessible seat that can be used to lower a mobility-challenged guest into the pool. Also, the ground floor ladies’ restroom off the lobby had a grab bar next to the toilet. That may be standard but I had never noticed it before. The hotel was very easy access from I-20, and the Cracker Barrel where we ate supper was just across the interstate on the access road. We didn’t wander too far afield on this short stop but we felt quite safe. Will definitely make this our stopping place on the next road trip.

The day I checked out of this hotel I expressed my comments about this terrible hotel experience (Transcript later) with a ”Chat” person on Priceline. As of today 2/28/21 (A week later) I still have not heard from Priceline, Wyndham, Baymont hotels or a manager of the Baymont Longview. Perhaps I need to contact the BBB or the Longview Fire Department to determine if Longview has laws against renting a hotel room without a working smoke detector? Baymont Inn 502 South Access Road, Longview, TX 75602 Check-in February 20, 2021 I stay in 30-40 hotels each year for my job. This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at in YEARS! Baymont, Wyndham & Priceline should be embarrassed to be letting this hotel book rooms! The hotel is under a major remodel of some sort – it NEEDS it!! They should not be renting any rooms unless the rooms have completed the remodel/restoration. My room was disgusting! Dirty and many things wrong. A full-length mirror had fallen 2 feet off the wall and was leaning against the wall. Old, stained wallpaper was showing where the mirror used to be on the wall. The bathroom was terrible! The hairdryer had fallen off the wall and was sitting on the counter. The bathtub was filthy. The bathroom light did not work and was missing the cover – and the glass cover was sitting on the towel shelf – with an extra roll of toilet paper sitting in it! White plaster was covering holes in the orange painted wall above the bed. The desk lamp was missing the on-off switch and the electrical plugins in the base (Which are normally a nice advantage) did not work. There was a hole in the wall where the smoke detector should have been! Please refund 100% of my $. Please stop this hotel from renting rooms which are dirty, dangerous, and unfit at any price. I have photos to back-up all the problems I mentioned above. Sincerely, Dave Proudfit
