2-Star Hotels in Los Angeles

We were here 4 days and enjoyed the stay. There are free parking, it is clean and the service was very good. A star deduction is for the brightness (it hears the street something and if someone runs outside or above it sounds like if he stands right in the room)

Metro Plaza is in perfect, easy walking distance location for Old LA Olvera Street (don’t miss the Avila Adobe), Philippe’s famous restaurant, and Union Station. It was ok for a one-night stay. I hope the review below gives an idea of what to expect. I felt safe walking around in the day, but. fwould not walk here after dark. Half of the hotel is recently renovated with new corridor carpet and modern rooms. Front desk people, including manager, are excellent and helpful. Despite being busy with several foreign tour groups, the staff remained patient and gracious. Lobby is very basic, with nowhere to sit. There’s a big screen of security camera views, and a security guard by the elevator, but axcard key is not required to open the elevator door. this might be a good safety, security measure— seen in many big-city hotels— for this hotel to add A week before arriving, I spoke with the manager, requested a recently renovated room, and got one. But the window looked out to a barbed-wire topped wall! I asked if possible to switch to a room facing the beautiful old post office and Union Station, but the receptionist said the hotel was full, with the one available room reeked of cigarette smoke, despite the hotel following “no smoking” policy! My room was large, bed was comfortable. There’s a large TV, mini fridge but no microwave. There’s a very large desk/shelf area and two hammocks to sit on. The bathroom was newly renovated, with an oddly placed rain- shower in the center of the shower-enclosure ceiling rather than the wall, which made it impossible to escape getting drenched hair. Unless you want a shampoo, bring a shower cap. The water temperature control faucet in the shower starts hot in “on” vertical position, and gets colder as you turn it to the left, which you can do only to 1/4 turn— different from standard shower controls. Bath towels were small, thin and scratchy—I suspect to avoid any temptation for towel thieves. Likewise, there’s an in-room ironing board, but no iron. For that, you go to the lobby and give your drivers license or cash deposit and borrow an iron. If I again had a morning Amtrak train to board, I’d stay at Metro Plaza knowing its quirks and limitations. —

Samesun hostel was perfectly located along Hollywood boulevard. The hostel provided a very good breakfast and coffee setup which could set you up for the day ahead. Hostel was generally clean, there could be a little wait for showers in the morning with only 3 showers available in a very big hostel. Has a good common area with vending machines and a pool table.

I stayed at the Colony Inn with my 2 adult daughters for 10 nights whilst one of them attended a dance program in North Hollywood. The location was perfect for our needs - close to the studio and walking distance to public transport and a variety of food vendors. The Hotel is basic but clean and well maintained. A hair dryer and iron were available on request. The room was serviced each day.

Despite offering free breakfast, it does NOT start till 7-00am, then finishes at 9-00 sharp. Lots of food then thrown out, it was like packaged scrambled egg, small overcooked mini sausage, and diced fried potato. Lots of overseas guests cane after 9-00am no food? People leaving before 7-00am missed out as well! Room was okay and bathroom was very clean!

The office staff were rude making us stand outside to check in, seeing my husband and I but not acknowledging us. In walking around the motel, the ground was filthy with trash. Walking up the stairs to the room was the same, trash and gum on the stairs and they were filthy. Looks like they have never been scrubbed cleaned or washed down. Once in the room, we were missing a hand towel. The maid was working in the room next to our's so I went and asked her for a towel, which there were plenty on her cart. She told me no! I asked why and she said it was policy to just give one. I told her there were 2 full size towels as there is 2 of us and she still refused! I grabbed one off her cart and went to my room. The bathroom has no counter in which to lay your makeup or other products on. The sink was a single standing sink and the water drained very slow. The bathroom fan was disgusting with filth, dirt and dust. It was black! I stayed there because I had an appointment with a doctor in Panorama City the next morning, otherwise I would have gotten my money back and left.

I booked this hotel mainly for the convenience of renewing my ID. Actually, I can still get there, but it was raining all the time, so I took Lyft to and from. Compared with the hotels I stayed in before when I came to the United States, the breakfast was actually quite good. The yogurt was of high quality, and there were more choices of tea bags. Pancakes can also be made on the spot. But you have to take the breakfast to the room, so it's not bad. Although small, it has everything. I stayed there for a bowl of ID, and after I got it done, I moved to the Chinese Hotel. The transportation is very convenient, there are museums around, and it's all near the UCLA campus. There are many banks, supermarkets, and drug stores, which are also very convenient. If you are not sensitive to price, it's okay to stay here for one or two nights. There is another hotel next to this hotel, but it feels like it should be more expensive than it. The two are next to each other, on a one-way street.

I took a fancy to the holiday's breakfast, which was quite satisfactory and in line with expectations. The front desk has been busy, and the receptionist apologized for my waiting. I was impressed that the alarm bell rang at 5:00 in the morning. Everyone evacuated to the lobby but could not tell the reason in time. Later, they said that the smoke alarm alarmed and nothing happened. The surrounding environment of the hotel is not good, and homeless people are common.

To be honest, I was nervous because there weren't many Korean reviews, but the price was so reasonable that I made a reservation. 70,000 won for 3 days and 2 nights is too cheap for a traveler without money haha.. Here is an honest review for Koreans! (Advantages) 1. Good price I made a reservation for about 36,000 won per night. About a month before departure I made a reservation through Trip.com, and when I checked on *******, the price was similar, but Trip.com was slightly cheaper due to the airline ticket-linked promotion. It was cheaper than a Korean motel (even though it was a shared room...) and there was no additional cost at all that I was worried about. It ends with the amount you reserved! It's so true. However, there is no additional charge if you bring your own lock/towel. Because I need it If you ask at the counter, they will probably lend you towels for $2 each. If you want to stay at Loomis Hostel, a padlocked towel is a must!!! 2. Excellent cleanliness Because of the price, I almost wanted to give up on cleanliness. The condition of the bed and bedding were all flawless. To be honest, I thought it would be a bit dirty, but it wasn't like that at all. Bathrooms are also really important, but there are so many bathrooms. There is no need to wait and the many restrooms are kept clean. I really liked it. I think the host is probably a bit sensitive to cleanliness. A cleaning person comes every morning and cleans each and every bathroom. They clean it.. For a hostel in this price range, the cleanliness is really good. It's great! 3. Convenience of transportation I'm a student traveler with no money, so I never call Uber wherever I go. I used public transportation. Bus stop (where you can go to Lax) There is one within 3-5 minutes. There is a subway station and a bus stop within a 15-minute walk (you can go to Hollywood), and the road is large and wide, so it's not dangerous and I think it's a great location to use public transportation. I travel around LA using buses and subways, and the cost of travel is less than $20 :) The map is so good that it's easy to find. I took a bus from LA Airport to the hostel, which took a little over an hour. 4. Other advantages - You can make foreign friends (As an extreme introvert, it was my first time traveling alone, so I felt a bit lonely, but I had one good friend who actively talked to me. There is a meeting place near the front desk and kitchen. If you feel lonely, go and join in the conversation. People from various cultures come together to create good synergy.) - Breakfast provided!! To poor me lol.. a ray of light… It makes no sense to even provide breakfast at this price.. There are 4 slices of bread per person, coffee, pancakes (I can't see anyone making them...), Nutella and peanut butter, etc. It's a good way to fill up your stomach! - It's not an advantage, but the tip is as mentioned above. Personal lock / Multiple personal towels depending on the number of days / Required.!! +I think it would be good to have a plastic bag to store things. + About a wet tissue..? I don’t know about anything else, but don’t forget your padlock towel ~~ (disadvantage) 1. I don’t have my own space(?) It's so obvious, but it's not just my room like a motel or hotel. There are bound to be some uncomfortable things. Guests sharing a room snore, Either they are people who do **, or they are active early in the morning and come in noisily... If you don't wash well or have sensitive senses of smell, hearing, etc., use a little more. It can be hard. (The person named ** came in on the last night of my stay. It was difficult because the smell was a bit unpleasant.. haha) Still, there is a screen for all the needles, so I use that. It's okay to use AirPods or earplugs! It’s a hostel!! 2. Luggage storage This is related to not having my own space. It is stored in a shared locker with a lock. For things like suitcases that are too bulky to fit, just store them anywhere in the room. I store it in the lobby, but honestly, even if there is a lock on the suitcase, I feel a little uneasy. Someone could take it away, and to be honest, you can just cut the lock off... A part-timer who works in the hostel lobby said that at first. Since there is no CCTV and it is a bit dangerous, the most important thing is that you have no choice but to manage your luggage thoroughly haha..! You really have to pay close attention and take good care of yourself!! Despite all these shortcomings, I strongly recommend it to student travelers like me who have no money or who want to travel cheaply. I think it's great enough for this price. I am 10000000% willing to visit again. As long as you are not too sensitive and take good care of yourself, it is a perfect accommodation with no accidents at all!
