Hôtel Hélianthe

Avoid! Tourist scam! Worst experience I have ever had in a hotel classified as 3 stars, and I have been to hotels all over the world. Enticed by the positive reviews, I chose to stay 4 nights in this hotel on the occasion of my pilgrimage. The location is in my opinion a bit inconvenient, as the hotel is close to the eastern entrance of the sanctuary, but is located on an uphill street. I will start by saying that the staff at the lobby speaks Italian. And this is a positive aspect, together with the taste of the dishes offered at the restaurant and the presence of a bidet in the room. Starting to expose the negative aspects, the room assigned to us lacked, like all the others, air conditioning, an aspect not mentioned in any way on the site but very unpleasant, especially because in July the outside temperature exceeds 30 degrees and our room was exposed to full sun during the afternoon: moral of the story, I did not sleep for four nights. English: The cleanliness of the rooms was lacking during the entire duration of the stay: despite my initial complaint to the reception, the maid limited herself to making up the beds and changing the towels as best she could (something that had never happened in other hotels in Lourdes); the sink, shower and toilet were never cleaned, as was the floor, full of dust. I would like to give a negative note to the restaurant staff: especially a "lady" with short blond hair and glasses, not used to greeting (like her colleagues) and very rude towards us Italians. She was also considerate towards the French guests. The breakfast was very meager and not comparable to other experiences I had in the same city. Overall, therefore, I judge the experience to be very negative and I do not recommend the hotel in its entirety (at least to Italians). I am waiting for a partial refund of the stay and I hope that the owners of this dump will receive the same treatment if they decide to come to Italy. I attach the photos to prove the above-mentioned aspects.

Like every year since 2005, I come on a pilgrimage to Lourdes and I take advantage of the welcome and good services of the Helianthe hotel to rest in the evening. The atmosphere is warm, the meals are quality and the rooms are pleasant. Thank you Chantal and Claude as well as all the staff. Thierry

A big thank you to the entire Matocq family and all the hotel staff for their kindness and availability during our stay. Comfort and food at the top. And special thanks from Mémé for the loan of the chair which allowed her to fully enjoy the sanctuary despite her 94 years 💜 Hotel with parking and 150 m from the sanctuary.

The hotel is located in a secluded street 10 minutes walk from the cave. The return trips are tiring (full board). The room is rather comfortable. The bedspreads give it an old look, they are stained. The hair dryer is from another time! There's a big spider on the ceiling. As far as catering goes, it's a disappointment. In summary, I doubt that the services are worthy of a 3 star.

Hotel 200 m from the entrance to the sanctuary. It is located in an ideal place to go on a pilgrimage. The staff is welcoming. Room 618 can accommodate a double bed, a child's bed and 2 baby beds + room to move around the room. The price is competitive. We did not try the restaurant. We regret the lack of air conditioning in the rooms and the pressure in the shower. We had ordered 2 nights but following an emergency we only had one night left and the staff reimbursed us without problem.
