Hot Springs Hotels in Luang Prabang

Laos is not a rich country, but luxury hotels seem to be particularly fond of this country, especially Luang Prabang. Among them is Amantaka, which is a must-visit for Aman enthusiasts. During my half month in Laos, I experienced all the good hotels in this country. As expected, Amantaka is the best. The noble experience begins when the front office manager personally drives to the previous hotel to pick you up. The appearance of every customer service person in the entire hotel seems to be strictly controlled. They are all pure and peaceful, so that wherever you walk in the hotel and meet the staff, you will see the pure and kind smiling faces, which will calm your heart. ,slow down. Although the hotel is located in the center of the city, it is quiet amidst the hustle and bustle. The hotel provides free shuttle tutu service to facilitate guests to explore the ancient city; it also thoughtfully provides free afternoon tea and laundry services. After swimming, you can use the steam and sauna rooms, and the facilities are well equipped. Monks will pass by the hotel entrance, and the hotel will provide free supplies and sticky rice to guests who want to experience alms. The hotel also gives guests woven bags and hats as souvenirs. It was an unforgettable and perfect experience in Amman Targah, and I hope to come back next time for a sunset cruise.

Not much to say, which is rather positive. As advertised. The location was convenient without being crowded. The hotel itself was charming and relaxing. The restaurant offered a good mix of options with a wide range of affordable local dishes and some western alternatives. Both were good choices. The cleaning staff were efficient. And the service was great. There was always someone available to help, happily. The spa was surprisingly cheap for an in-house spa, but still maintained standards across the board. The shuttle, which never required any waiting time, was useful. I guess there was a bit to say, all positive. Would comfortably recommend.

The service is very good, and the environment is also very good. When you open the window in the morning, you can hear the stream and birds. The atmosphere of the whiskey bar at night is also very good. They also used a luxury nanny car to send my friend back to other hotels, which is free. I stayed during the Spring Festival. The water in the swimming pool was still a little cold at night and I couldn't swim. The breakfast was a little slow and I waited for 45 minutes before it was served.

After 1353, King Faang, who unified Laos, introduced Theravada Buddhism from Cambodia and made Buddhism the state religion, ushering in a vigorous era of Buddhist development. The ancient city of Luang Prabang, a world heritage site, is the birthplace of Theravada Buddhism in Laos. After thousands of years, Buddhism has left a deep imprint on this city. Avani+ in Luang Prabang is a two-story luxury hotel with 53 modern classic rooms, inspired by the traditional Laotian and French colonial architecture in the town. The history of the venue dates back to 1941, when it was a French officer's dormitory, and was converted into the Phu Si Hotel by the Lao government in 1961. Aman founder Adrian Zecha is particularly fond of Luang Prabang. He feels that Jakarta, Singapore and Hong Kong, where he has lived, are becoming more and more fast-paced and modern, and only Luang Prabang gives him the feeling of living in Indonesia as a child. In addition to Amantaka and his private residence, the first hotel of the new brand Azerai was also opened in Luang Prabang in 2017. It is the predecessor of Avani+, so Avani+ is known as the Little Aman.

Everything was just like in the pictures. Super nice decoration. The room and its balcony were quite big. The taste of their breakfast was very nice, literally - only American breakfast's available, tho. Free bicycle ride. It's located in a quiet area, which is good. It's close to the aiming area (with Wat Sensoukharam scene on the back) but a bit far from the night/morning market, FYI. Unfortunately, there was a construction in front of the hotel so it was noisy during the day.

This hotel and Laos in general were a complete and utter positive surprise and experience. Booked last minute due to prior flight cancellations in Bangkok, this was a real treat. From the moment we stepped in (prior to checkin time I’ll add) we were warmly greeted by the team with a lovely welcome beverage and a room upgrade with early checkin. Next the staff helped us arrange our entire 24h in Luang Prabang to ensure we maximised the trip, organising every detail from the driver to towels for the waterfalls. The room was gorgeous, upstairs overlooking the pond with nice touches including free local beer. The bathroom was gorgeous with nice scented oil. Breakfast was good. Everything about this trip and hotel surpassed our expectations, especially for the price point. Highly highly recommend.

This hotel could be spectacular, the views around the hotel are stunningly beautiful but the property has been left to fall into disrepair. There has been no upkeep, the property needs a power-hose, paint & revamp. It is very unstaffed, leading to less senior staff running around trying to do everything. For example when we arrived there was no one to help us with our bags or greet us at the door (not really 5 star experience), the kids club is unstaffed, had to wait 20 minutes for someone to arrive at the pool bar to make me a drink.. don’t bother with the breakfast it is very poor quality, the noodle soup is the best option but hard to eat as the breakfast room is not air conditioned so it is boiling hot in there! The shuttle bus service was great & I liked staying out of town as lying by the pool was very tranquil. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Our stay had a lot of high points and a lot of low points. Starting with the high points, the grounds and room were incredible. Our experience at the spa was one of the best we’ve had. The cocktails and Laos-style burger we had for lunch one day were phenomenal. The staff were charming and very accommodating. However, there were a few aspects that were far below the experience expected of a 5 star hotel. First, cocktail service around the pool was abysmal. On almost every occasion we had to go searching for a staff member to take our order, and then the cocktails more often than not took more than half an hour to arrive. This is despite the fact that we seemed to be the only people ordering F&B at that time, i.e. they were not busy at all. Second, the breakfast was a disappointment every day - we were told we could order eggs or noodles, and had to repeatedly press the staff to find out what type of eggs and noodles, and we only discovered on the last day that there was a menu with additional options. We ordered poached eggs on toast, and the eggs had not been drained of excess liquid, and the bread was entirely soaked through. An order of waffles took over an hour to come out - first it was delivered as a pancakes, and then they just forgot about it despite repeated follow ups. The “local” Laos options lacked flavor - very little of the herbs and spice that makes Laos food great. I think this and the pool service issue are primarily the result of a lack of training and instruction for staff - they were clearly doing their best, but did not know what to do. Third, the pool area needs a lot more spent on maintenance. The decking is cracking and falling apart. The mosaic tiles in the pool are falling apart, A LOT of the tiles are missing, and I got a very large laceration on my forearm from the sharp edge of a tile sticking out. If this pool were in a western jurisdiction, it would not meet health and safety standards. Fourth, the gym was not worth visiting if you want to lift weights. Possibly the worst weights offering I’ve seen for a hotel of that price and with that much space. We want to reiterate how great and enthusiastic the staff were. I think this is primarily a management oversight, training, and maintenance capex issue.

Our second stay in this Villa. We loved the experience, and liked the design of the room. Everyplace in the center is walkable from here. Also the morning ceremony can be watched from the location. I’d definitely stay again.

The location should be the best in Yangren Street. It is right on the main street, which is very convenient for eating and drinking, and it is also nice to take pictures. The only problem is that the room is not soundproof because it is made of wood. If you want to watch Bushi, this hotel is the most convenient. You can watch it at the door of the hotel. Breakfast is ordered and it is delicious. If you want quietness, Sofitel will be better.
