Baan Pila

Hands down the best stay experience in Luang Prabang! A historic mid-century bungalow located on a quiet street in the middle of Luang Prabang. Beautifully restored with handcrafted furniture, textiles and a lovely design aesthetic. I loved the high ceilings, natural light and wonderfully thought out details -- the mini bar with local snacks, french press with locally-grown organic Arabica beans, organic locally crafted bath amenities and the sweet indigenous textiles around the room. The staff is exceptional, always smiling, considerate and willing to assist. I would stay here over and over again! -- I stayed in the Payapa Room, which was perfect for a solo traveller or a couple. Baan Pila also has suites with sitting areas and vestibules for those traveling with families.

I could not have been more happy with my stay. A peaceful oasis located a very short distance from the night market and other amazing attractions. The breakfasts were fantastic. Fresh fruits, juices, Lao coffee, vegatables, eggs, breads (and more) every morning. The staff made me feel very comfortable. Always greeting me with respect and huge smiles. After a long day of teaching English I could not wait to get “home” and unwind by the pool with a good book. Thank you again to the entire staff for a memorable stay. Ajan Matt

My husband, daughter and I all thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate crepes. Great selection of vegan meals just unfortunate it was a Sunday and they didn't have my first choice of French toast available. Slightly disappointed when I tried to go back the next day to see if they had the French toast to find, even though they advertise open at 6am, they were still closed at 7.30am
LAN XIANG BOUTIQUE HOTEL

The spacious and bright room and the courtyard swimming pool are surrounded by distant mountains. It is a great place for a vacation. The boss's attentive service is touching. He arranged a free one-day tour with full explanations to give us a deeper understanding of the Lao people. The recommended restaurant has delicious food. Thank you for taking our family to participate in the charity at 5:30 on New Year's Day. I wish the boss good luck in the Year of the Snake and a prosperous business.
Memory Hotel & Villa

Old hotel run by Vietnamese people, the decoration style is average. The room was small, only a few square meters, but it was enough. It is worth mentioning that the cost performance is super high. It is rare to have such a hundred yuan hotel 2 kilometers away from King Paratha. Because the hotel does not include breakfast, the front desk will ask if you need an extra breakfast, $ 5 per person. The hotel turns left and walks all the way to Puxi Mountain. 500-1000 meters along the way there are rice noodles, egg fried rice, noodles and so on. I hope my evaluation is helpful for your travel.
Golden Lotus Place

I spend 300 nights a year in hotels, and I try to write reviews that allow readers to have accurate expectations of hotels. Golden Lotus is a fine option, but you need to know that it’s a family guesthouse ( think hostel with private bathroom ), more than a boutique hotel. The location is excellent if one wishes to be in the city center. The breakfast is adequate, albeit, a bit on the spartan side - not buffet style. I found that the property was a bit noisy, especially in the morning and evening, merely because of its setup - it’s a bunch of rooms in a house. The family that runs the place is very friendly. There is no hot water from the bathroom tap. They charge an additional 3% if you pay with credit card. If you are aware in advance that this is a humble guesthouse, then, I think you will be fine. I was a bit underwhelmed with the facilities and the breakfast, because I thought it was a boutique property. Overall, it is adequate, but nothing special. But the location is great, as is the family running it.
