Incredible experience. Kham and her family were so welcoming - they treated me like one of their own, having all meals together (delicious by the way!), and letting me have my pick of the beautiful bedrooms in their house by the river. Mr Sai showed me through the nearby farms, took me fishing, and walked me through the village. I really felt like they showed me a little slice of their life - we checked fish traps, shared chicken feet with some neighbors, had fresh vegetables and fruits from the garden. I learned so much from both Kham and Sai (who have great English!). Thank you so much for being so welcoming and kind 💙

Khan is wonderful. She gave us a very genuine insight into rural life in Laos and welcomed us into her generous and most welcoming family. The setting is stunning, the landscape is unforgettable and the food is truly amazing. Fresh from her garden, we cooked with her aunties and tried a large variety of food. The experience of going to the temple, visiting the rice fields, the rural village and the food was the best way to experience authentic Laotian rural life.

Everything was great. To walk in the rice fields during the sunset, to enjoy tasty and accessible lao cooking, to play cards in the evening... thank you for everything! Khan and her family have been very good guides to make us discover some parts of the lao culture.

As a nature lover I really loved the homestay! Did a 3D2N homestay at Kham’s childhood village Muang Soune. The house is just next to the river, and it’s really nice and quiet. Food was delicious and I am so glad to be able to taste all the authentic Laotian food. Kham brought me along to the village, rice field, fishing with her uncle etc. Was fortunate enough to attend a wedding and the village market too! Want to give special thanks to Kham and her family at the village for taking care of me. And her husband for the coordination. Highly recommend this to anyone who want to experience a unique and authentic lifestyle in Laos!

Our family of four had such a memorable stay with Kham and her uncle and aunt and nephew at the village. It was a highlight of our trip to get a deeper understanding of life in Laos and how it is rapidly changing. We loved planting rice in the rice fields (or trying to at least), jumping off the ferry docks, swimming in the river, fishing with uncle and his tractor, cutting young bamboo, hanging in the hammock, to name a few. Kham is an amazing host and her stories of growing up in the village blew our minds. Most importantly, we ate so well! The spring rolls, the sticky rice, the fish, yum! Kham and her aunt are amazing cooks! We had such an incredible time and we still talk about Kham and our stay there all the time! We are also inspired to make sticky rice and spring rolls like Kham!

What an unexpected gem. Zero regrets making time for this Homestay while in Laos. Kham, our gracious host, went above and beyond to share with us her world, culture, family, and so much more during our 2 day/1 night stay in Muang Soune. We found this Homestay last minute, and she was very responsive through email. We were amazed how much we learned from her when she took us to local markets as well as foraging through the jungle for meal ingredients. We visited the post card worthy rice fields and helped plant rice with local children, learned how to net fish during the night and day, walked through her village, local hospital, and attended morning alms giving at the local temple. Using the freshest ingredients we foraged for ourselves during our stay, the most delicious meals were prepared… we were just amazed. The property is breathtaking, right on the river (you can only get there by boat!), clean, and simple. Towels and mosquito nets provided. Hot water to shower, two beautiful porches and hammocks to relax. I’m not a terribly sentimental person, but I must share that I was incredibly sad to leave. This Homestay was honestly life changing. It made me slow down, look around, appreciate the beauty that is Laos. It’s going to be very hard to top this trip. Thank you Kham, I will be back!
