Zambezi Grande Private Game Experience

Zambezi Grande was the finest hotel I’ve ever been to - and I’ve traveled around the world for decades and stayed at some pretty spectacular places. What made it so incredible was firstly the staff. Josh Isaacs, the General Manager, can and will make sure that everything you want and need is taken care of. As a quick example, my mother had left her phone in a car on the way to the airport earlier that morning in Lusaka. We arrived at the hotel, let him know what happened, and he said he was going to make a few calls (one to our hotel in Lusaka, etc) and was able to get the phone back into the hands of my mother by 6pm that evening. Josh somehow arranged for it to be picked up, put on a plane, and delivered to ZG same day. We were truly shocked. But that wasn’t the only 5 star experience we had - that was just our first afternoon there! The rooms were absolutely gorgeous. Everything about the suites were picture perfect - I can only hope I can afford to hire the same designer for my home someday! The staff were wonderful, interested, and kind. Thank you to Gordon, Benji, John, and Kelvin for their generosity and attentiveness. The game drives and the river safaris were perfection, we saw so many animals and saw the most amazing sunsets and sunrises possible (thank you to Solomon and Honest!). Elephants roamed around the property - it was thrilling and wondrous for the hotel guests (but probably a huge pain for the hotel haha). The food was also 5 star; the meals were meticulously thought out and delicious and the drinks were top notch. The staff planned a romantic get away for my husband and I one morning and left us a bottle of champagne for our recent nuptials. I cried when we left Zambezi Grande, as our new and lifelong friends sang their welcome/goodbye song to us - I knew that this place and the people were a core memory that could never be forgotten. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. We will be back.

Let me start by saying this was a board retreat but turned out to be one of the greatest excursions of my life. Everything and I mean everything is top drawer stuff. The food, the service, the messeuse, the entire team and staff. Thank you. The mornings were my personal favourite and on the last evening we had a bush dinner.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in November. Excellent experience. Top notch quality. Chefs are excellent. Rooms comfortable and designed with flair and without a single bug. Beautiful view of the lower Zambezi River. Excellent guiding by lodge associated guide. Can't believe all the incredible animal sightings. Same for river cruises. Interesting GM to talk with. Not a big deal to fly into a nearby airstrip from Lusaka. Well worth it.

This is probably the best stay I have had in years, great staff and hospitality with amazing sunsets and sightings.

The Zambezi Grande is luxury from top to bottom, but at the same time, they exceed expectations from start to finish. The value is incredible. Everything there exists to help you relax. I had a massage on my private porch overlooking the river that was the best of my life. Game drives were incredible with exceptionally knowledgable guides and spotters. Food was 5-stars. Can't wait to go back!

The location, ambiance and general sevice are excellent. Perhaps the animals are fewer in number and species than elsewhere, but we had some excellent game drives with a superb ranger. Being on the river was a real bonus.
