This hotel is in a beautiful spot, with gardens, and even a tennis court. The restaurant is excellent and staff friendly and helpful. Situated just outside the town of Lucca, it is an easy distance to go and spend the afternoon or evening in this beautiful little town.

Stayed here for one night on a week long trip in Italy and wished we stayed longer. Lovely villa in a lovely setting, with Lucca in the distance and the hills surrounding it. Staff were excellent in service and so helpful. Swimming pool was a lovely treat and the food in the restaurant was delicious, best food we had on our trip, special of seabass was excellent and everything was so fresh. Wine selection was also excellent.

We stayed 4 nights at this gorgeous little hotel just outside the centre of Lucca. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Our room was lovely with a gorgeous view of the Tuscan hills. The absolute highlight of this hotel though is its restaurant. Some of the best food we had, we were spoilt. It has a great pool with comfy sun loungers - in such a peaceful setting. The grounds are very well maintained. We hired a car for our trip and I would say it is a must, to save on costly taxis in and out of the centre of Lucca. Thank you for such an amazing stay, our first adults only getaway for 5 years - we enjoyed every second!

The Hotel located just on the edge of Lucca was excellent. We had a balcony room with fantastic views over Lucca. The restaurant was also very good. However, the most important aspect of our stay were the staff all of whom were very friendly and helpful.

lovely hotel, perfectly located within a short drive of Lucca and Pisa. We had a lovely comfortable room and enjoyed dining at the restaurant in the evening. Breakfast was plentiful with many choices. The staff were very friendly. We stayed 2 nights, the perfect end to our road trip of Tiscany.

We found this very affordable villa by accident and were thrilled when we did. The architecture was regal yet comfortable and was 600 years old. Our room overlooked the countryside and was so restful. Dinner was fabulous and the parmesan/mushroom was the best soup I have ever tasted. The staff throughout were like family and there is not one thing to fault. Both the outside grounds and the Villa itself were beautiful.

Friendly attentive staff start to finish. Really enjoyed the pool area on the hot days. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas to be had. Breakfast was beautiful and yummy. We had dinner there our first evening and our party of 8 were all pleased. Thank you again to the extremely helpful staff. Would stay at Villa St Michele again.

We stayed here for a week on a family holiday, using it as a base for daytrips. We travelled to Lucca, Pisa, forte dei Marmi and even la Spezia. All perfectly doable. Lucca itself is maybe 10 minutes driving. Thotel itself is a gorgeous Palazzo in an olive tree garden. Very quiet and peacuful. A real gem of a hotel. Very atmospheric inside, perfectly clean, nice breakfast, friendly staff. We enjoyed a late night drink ever evening in the bar, which perhapos was a bit boring but nevertheless we enjoyed a lot. All in all a great stay, and hope to one day come back!
