HOTEL NEXUS. I had originally booked a different hotel in Lucknow using my Indian mobile number. They thought I was therefore an Indian citizen, so couldn’t accept me as a a guest when I arrived as they were not authorised to take foreign tourists. The ***ager there [R.K.International] was extremely helpful and got me a discount deal at the relatively close Hotel Nexus. When I arrived here at Hotel Nexus the staff showed me three available rooms and let me choose whichever I preferred. They were all clean, large rooms with large clean toilet/shower. As I was on my way to Nepal and had come mainly to Lucknow to get a Covid PCR-test I had a problem that I took to the Hotel ***ager. Due to a 5-hour late train arrival plus the problem with my previous hotel booking, that left me no time to take a PCR-test on the day of my arrival. Nor to see anything of Lucknow before my scheduled departure. The ***ager Mr. Vaibhaj Trow solved my difficulties by phoning around, arranged a Dr. to come to the hotel in the morning to take the test, PLUS printed out an itinerary of places to see in Lucknow, PLUS allowed me to leave my luggage at the hotel after checking-out so that I could see the sights unemcumbered before my night-train departure. So in SUMMARY: good, comfortable, quiet clean room PLUS EXCELLENT customer service from the very friendly and helpful staff. ________

The doors of the hotel don't lock. If they do, the shower doesn't work. If it does, the water doesn't drain properly, the elevator doesn't work and there is no remote for the television. If all of these things work, the toilet is not clean enough. The management seems least bothered about these broken stuff. The staff often seems clueless about booking procedures and if not reminded, they can overcharge you. The only positives are: 1.The food is good but expensive. 2.Most of the staff are polite. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hotel Ganga Maiya. This is a proper budget stay hotel and the rooms are ok with respect to cleanliness, spacious and accessibility to important places in city. There is no lift in the hotel and rooms are in first and second floors. Food is available on order. There are lot of restaurants in 2-5 mins walk.
