I just love the Staff and other people around the hotel very positive happy đ and helpfull I have a problem getting around on my legs and the help was always at hand please came and have much fun on the roof top pool with view to kill for what can I say the manager on hand and around every day asking if every think is OK well what can you say but Thank you St,Joseph hotel
Located on the quieter West Bank, the hotel (more of a large guest house) is bang in the middle of a village of locals and gives this place a really authentic feel. The locals in the town centre can harass you extensively, but those in the neighbourhood just want to say hello or get on with their day. I haven't always felt safe in Egypt travelling solo, but here I feel completely at home! Every single member of staff is fantastic. Not all of them speak much English, but they'd do anything to make your stay more comfortable. At least three of the staff speak English well: The owner, Mahmoud, usually hangs around the hotel but also lives locally and treats his guests like family. Ahmed will always greet you with a smile and a warm welcome and Talab is a perfect gentleman who will drive you wherever you need to go. The rooms are divided into three blocks, which have been added at different times. Block one has the best rustic feel. My shower wasn't working properly and Mahmoud proposed a number of solutions. Eventually, I moved to a room in the newer block. Most rooms overlook a beautiful green courtyard with exposed and shaded outdoor seating and a pool. There is also a restaurant on site with indoor and outdoor seating. Everything is reasonably priced, tours can be organised in house, and there's a little shop around the corner for things like bottled water staffed by a couple of lovely ladies who speak no English but will not rip you off. Note, there is a mosque nearby which can be quite loud when announcing the call to prayer and that may not be to everyone's taste. Personally, I feel it adds to the charm and it hasn't yet woken me up at night. Access to the populated East Bank and museums is via a ferry that is a 10 minute walk away and costs just 10 EGP per way. Solo traveller, 34
The hotel is not the best in Luxor. It is not on the Nile river nor does it have a fancy presence on the road. But for an inexpensive but clean hotel this is the best in Luxor. The prices are great, the location is within walking distance of Luxor temple, and the staff is excellent. We went with a business group of 75 people and they accommodated our every need and went above and beyond in the meals and dealing with all the issues that came up. Highly recommend.

El Nakhil was recommended by our tour agency and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The place is clean, and comfortably furnished. Our room had a private balcony which looked out over a lovely courtyard. The bathroom was modern and boasted what had to be the best hotel towels ever--these were custom made for El Nakhil and are made of soft, thick Egyptian cotton. The hotel is located on a narrow road at the edge of the village. It's a short walk to the ferry and the riverbank past houses painted with colorful murals depicting the owners' journey to Mecca for the Haj. The area is very safe. Except for the cab and tuk tuk drivers at the ferry landing no one will hassle you here and even these guys will take no for an answer. The only down side about the location is that it's right down the street from a mosque so expect an early wakeup as the faithful are called to prayer. My husband called it âthe complete Egyptian experienceâ. I came to enjoy it--a reminder that we were immersed in a very different culture. Must of the time the cooing of pigeons interspersed by the calls of other birds in the hotel courtyard are the loudest thing you'll hear. The rooftop restaurant is first rate--a regular visitor to Luxor told us it's the best place on the West Bank--with a nice mix of Egyptian and European dishes all at reasonable prices. Beer and wine is available and quite affordable. They even had pizza! My husband gave it a thumbs up and he's from New Jersey where we take our pizza seriously. Finally, the staff is great! They truly go out of their way for you. Our time in Luxor was taken up with pre-arranged tours but if you want, the manager can help you arrange drivers, guides, horse and bike rentals--whatever you need. No pressure--no hassle. Need laundry done? You'll get it back the same day all neatly folded and for a reasonable price too. Do you have any special breakfast requests? No problem. Finally, the policy here is that tips are shared by the entire staff and given as a gift at the end of your stay. Once again--no hassle. If you are the kind of person who likes small hotels which may not have every amenity under the sun but does all the basics with style and where you are treated as an individual I think you'll like this place. We did.
At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. That being said, for the price, the room surpassed my expectations, in cleanliness and organisation. However, the staff was probably the best part, they helped us book various services in Luxor, including hot air balloon ride. They were very friendly and helpful, and I definitely recommend Shady Hotel as a place to stay for cheap if it is your first time in Luxor.
The entrance location of the Karnake Temple is about the middle of the temple on the road from Luxor Temple. The navigation is not possible. The free travel is paid attention to and a large circle is circled. All temple hotels can report small groups with cars and it is convenient.
Without a doubt, the best thing about the Hotel is its staff. Especially Wael and Mohamed, they made my stay worth it, great hosts, with amazing customer orientation. Great professionals. The rest of the staff very friendly too. The location is great, the pool views are the best you can get in Luxor. Best place to enjoy the most welcoming view having a Beer at the pool. You can see the sunset from your pool , room was clean and comfortable and breakfast buffet was good.
Good, big apartment, we slept in the nearest bedroom (they only 3). Mattress, pillows comfortable, great sleep. Water pressure is good, towels, bed linen clean, cotton. Each room has a heater. A beautiful living room, there is everything in the kitchen to cook. We have arranged a transfer to the airport, thank you.
Currently staying here and this place is great. Mahmoud makes you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. He arranged a hot air balloon trip for us and he did not disappoint. We will definitely come back here. The rooftop is amazing and so is the view of the Valley of the Kings.

Excellent
MMbali ThusiThe hotel was okay. The facilities were good and the staff are very helpful. The room is a little dated but still very nice and clean with an amazing pool. We were upgraded to a Nile view which was nice. The sunsets by the pool are also gorgeous. Great location as base for day trips in Luxor.
The only annoying thing was being pestered by vendors to buy at their shops inside the hotel(some wouldnât take âno, thank youâ for an answer), I understand they need to keep business going but all I wanted to do was relax by the pool after a long day of touring and fighting off vendors all day. The food here is also awful (gave free school hostel food vibes), we tried dinner twice and room service in addition to daily breakfast . We paid about 3000EGP for 1 buffet dinner and it was definitely not worth it. Our least favourite food from our 2weeks around Egypt. You can pay less for delicious food elsewhere.
The stay here was okay and staff were generally friendly and nice. No expectations of or demanding tips.
BBuchangdarenhaoGreat experience itâs nice stay because you see the flamďżźingo and the nice Garden good to stay with together.
Price is affordable, and convenient to visit luxor temple and market nearby.
however the hotel is tricky about price, you need to pay by person, instead of pay by room. It cost you extra charge for stay more than one person, and the receipt shows below cannot identify which item was charged for.
JJohnWe had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. Food was excellent and reasonably priced, my children especially enjoyed the food. Service in the hotel was excellent with welcoming staff, good response times and what felt like personalised service from several staff members.
We came to Luxor to see the historical sites and the location is well suited for these,. The hotel has a great view across the Nile..... our first morning we woke up to see the hot air ballons flying high above the West Bank.... beautiful.Transportation to these sites was really well organised and realistically priced, I thoroughly recommend the in hotel transportation service. A special mention goes to Clara who not only was very knowledgeable about all the trips but also went out of her way to ensure that if there were any issues with your arranged trip, she would do everything she could to resolve them satisfactorily and keep you readily informed.
No negatives observed in our 4 night stay.
GGuest UserThe hotel is perfectly located and has amazing views of the Nile, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset !
The service was impeccable and they prepared for us breakfast box.
The only criticism which is not only applicable to the hotel is the fact that the price quoted for them helping to call a taxi by the reception was by far higher than what it would normally cost to grab a taxi and use the meter
GGuest UserThe Iberotel Luxor is in an excellent location overlooking the Nile (and 15 minutes from the train/bus station). Am so happy I chose to stay here. The Nile facing room is well worth the slightly higher price. My room was a good size with a fridge, lots of closet space, two arm chairs and a table. Only minus was that the sockets are oddly far from the bed. The balcony is great for sitting in the evening or at night or whenever it's not hot. It's quiet though the outside bar was playing a soccer game. Otherwise, no noise at night. Also no wifi issues anywhere in the hotel. The bathroom is functional but could use a bit of updating. The morning breakfast buffet had everything (breads, omelet bar, fruits, veggies, jams, cheese, meats, yogurts, dips, sweets, juices) and I went back for seconds and thirds every day. The pool area is lovely and right next to the Nile. Plenty of chairs and you can order from the cafe or just nap. All the staff from the waiters to the manager are nice and helpful. I walked to the sights, shopping and restaurants but obviously there are taxis and horses waiting outside. I was very happy, stayed an extra night and would absolutely recommend.
GGuest UserOne of the best hotels in which I have stayed. It was overall an amazing experience. First, professional staff and very friendly, from reception to restaurant and room service, all was amazing. The room was clean and fully equipped with everything that a guest might need. When faced with a problem they quickly try to solve it. Also they were very trust worthy. I happened to lose my sunglasses and they kept them safe for me to pick them up. The view from the nile side was stunning, I strongly recommend picking a room with that view, itâs totally worth the additional fee. The breakfast was also delicious with variety of choices and so was the dinner. This stay is totally worth 5 stars
GGuest UserPerfect location on Nile waterfront and walking distance to town. Beautiful big pool and pool service. Prices for food and drinks reasonable and good service. Rooms very good and great value. Beautiful gardens around pool.
GGuest UserPleasantly surprised by this hotel, for this price you get a lot: big well appointed rooms, balcony with sunset Nile view, coffee/tea maker, fridge, safe, good airco etc. Staff are super friendly and helpful, led by the guest relations officer Gigi. Biggest plus was the new gym and spa, where professor Ashraf and his helper Mustafa give you incredible treatments for even more incredible prices. Respectful and professional, they come highly recommended!! Ok,decor a little dated but refurbishment is under way. Wifi needs an upgrade though..
GGuest UserThis hotel is a hidden gem in Luxor. The hotel is in an excellent place downtown and my room was neat, clean, and plenty cool thanks to the AC. The manager Mustafa was also very kind and really helped make my stay here special. When I come back to Luxor, I will definitely come back here and enjoy the views from their pool balcony!
GGuest UserExcellent hotel/hostel with a friendly owner and staff. Great rooftop social area which is key to learning from others and big value in terms of saving money and time. We booked a West Bank tour through the hotel with Aladine Solomon Tours. Aladine was the best Egyptian tour guide that we encountered. He has a great sense of humor and explained a lot of customs, agriculture, and history that went beyond a normal tour.
The average price for hotels in Luxor is MXN$2,075 on weekdays, and MXN$2,073 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
