"This was my first time staying at a St. Regis, and I chose it for my trip to Qingdao. The location near May Fourth Square, right by the sea, is quite convenient for exploring the coastline. 🌊【Ambiance】⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ As expected from a five-star hotel, the ambiance is impeccable. The view of the sea from the 63rd floor is truly spectacular. I originally intended to book a king-size bed room, but accidentally booked a twin-bed room. I only realized this upon entering the room, but the twin-bed room actually seemed more spacious. High-rise hotels along the coast really have an advantage. 🌊【Cleanliness】⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The cleanliness was excellent. Although the lobby isn't huge, it's very bright overall. Both the common areas and the rooms were meticulously cleaned, making for a worry-free stay. 🌊【Dining】⭐️⭐️⭐️ On the night I checked in, I wanted to go for a swim, so I returned to the hotel early. I saw on a review site that the hotel restaurant had a buffet, and there was a birthday month discount, so I made a reservation. I arrived at the restaurant around 8 PM after swimming. Perhaps because of the discount, the seafood platter that other guests had on their tables wasn't available to me. While I appreciate the generous discount, I feel that if a promotion is offered, it should include the full-priced dishes. Removing some items makes it feel like the discount isn't genuine, and the actual food quality is also discounted. It would be better not to offer the discount or to offer a different birthday gift. This promotion felt a bit stingy. The other dishes were very mediocre; the seafood was all cold and needed reheating, and the other hot dishes were also just okay, except for the oysters, which were good. 🌊【Service】⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Among the five-star hotels I've stayed in this year, my overall impression of the St. Regis is about average, but still good. The service, in particular, was a huge plus. During my stay, my butler, Beryl, was incredibly attentive and thoughtful. Seeing on my social media that it was my birthday, she specially sent a cake to my room, which was a super pleasant and very thoughtful surprise."

"The hotel had an exclusive feel, with rooms located on the upper floors, offering great views. However, the check-in was on the 51st floor, while our room was on a lower level. This meant we had to change elevators every time we left or returned, which was a bit inconvenient—especially since we were traveling with an elderly family member. We were celebrating my grandmother's birthday, and the hotel made a lovely gesture by arranging balloons and a cake, which we really appreciated. On the downside, the bed in our room was stained when we arrived, but the staff responded quickly and changed it immediately upon request. Breakfast was somewhat limited, so we opted to dine at MGM instead. That said, the swimming facilities, steam room, and rain shower were standout features and added a nice touch to the overall experience."

"During our summer family trip with children and seniors, we were looking for a quiet and less crowded place. The Lalu Hotel, surrounded by the sea on three sides, boasts a private beach where you can take a dip anytime. The sand isn't exceptionally fine, so wearing shoes is recommended. The adjacent infinity pool offers stunning views and is cleaned every morning, which the kids absolutely loved. However, many covers on the overflow drains around the infinity pool were broken or missing; maintenance definitely needs to catch up. All rooms are sea-view, offering the pleasant sound of waves and a refreshing sea breeze, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. The only minor drawback is the inevitable humidity being so close to the ocean. In the evenings, the soft lighting creates a wonderfully tranquil and peaceful ambiance. A special mention goes to the mattress and bedding; they're excellent for sleeping, providing superb lumbar support. The bath towels are also incredibly soft and plush, making them very comfortable to use. However, the in-room hairdryer could definitely use an upgrade, as the Philips model provided has a very weak airflow. Breakfast consistently maintained good quality, with perfectly cooked soft-boiled eggs and very fresh fruit. The hotel premises are expansive, so we never had to queue for meals, and even during busy periods, it never felt crowded. We were particularly impressed when Chef Kang personally came out to solicit feedback on the dining experience; it was a very thoughtful touch. We hope this high standard of food quality continues. Buffet vouchers can be purchased online. The quality and variety of meats were good, and even without crab, it offered excellent value for money, so we were quite satisfied overall. The complimentary roasted lamb leg served to each table was also delicious. The Chinese restaurant accepts group buy deals or cash vouchers, with a 15% service charge. While the food was decent, it's a convenient option if you prefer not to leave the hotel. We didn't try the Western restaurant this time. Service was good and responses were prompt, but the staff seemed quite stretched overall, often rushing around. This is understandable, given it's peak season; there will certainly be fewer guests during the off-season. Many corridor doors leading outside on various floors were closed, with only the L floor (lobby) and the first floor accessible. These two floors lead to outdoor platforms where we saw a wedding being set up, and it looked quite beautiful once decorated. In summary, The Lalu is ideal for a relaxing getaway, perfect for unwinding, and great for a good night's sleep. If you want to avoid crowds during your holiday, it's an excellent choice."

"This has to be one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Qingdao, right up there with The Lalu, Diaoyutai, and St. Regis. But it's more affordable than all of them. Overseas, we generally agree that staying at a St. Regis is just paying a 'stupid tax'. The views here are the best, and the location is as unbeatable as the St. Regis, with two similarly-ranked buildings in the same prime spot (next door). The real highlight, though, is the buffet upstairs. If you haven't tried the buffet here, you're seriously missing out. I'd give it a 9.9 out of 10. The only minor imperfection was that the cleaning staff in the lobby weren't very professional. When they roll up the carpets, they should really put up a warning sign to alert guests to watch their step. I tripped last night. Luckily, I'm quick on my feet; an elderly person probably would have fallen, and then that staff member would be out of a job. I hope they can improve safety in the future. The manager at the hotel lobby was very kind and upgraded my room for free, which I really appreciate."

"Ever since deciding in June in Dali to visit Qingdao in September, I booked the Shangri-La Hotel right away! That's because my 'bear baby' (term of endearment for myself) absolutely loves the signature scent at every Shangri-La. Arriving at Shangri-La, I immediately felt right at home. These five days truly felt like being with family. From the Shang Palace to the Café Yum, the Horizon Club Lounge, Concierge, Housekeeping, and Front Desk – every single staff member always had a wonderful smile on their face. I want to give a special shout-out to Benjamin and Rina; they took such excellent care of my 'bear baby'! They thoughtfully looked after my 'bear baby's' every need – food, clothing, accommodation, and transportation – and told me all the best spots for photos and check-ins, among many other things. They were also incredibly patient with my 'bear baby's' 'nagging,' never getting annoyed no matter how busy they were, haha. It was truly exceptional; I was genuinely sad to leave the hotel."

"I originally booked the Atour Hotel near May Fourth Square, but a friend recommended the Holiday Inn, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice!! Location: The hotel is conveniently situated next to a government building, with a Ginza Mall right next door, offering an abundance of dining options. It's within walking distance to the Olympic Sailing Center, and MixC Mall is just a short stroll away. Hygiene: As we are allergic to dust mites, Holiday Inn wasn't initially on our radar because their rooms traditionally had carpets. However, they renovated some rooms at the end of 2024, converting them to hard flooring, which is why we decided to stay. Apart from that, everything else was spotless and very well maintained. Service: Before booking, I inquired with the front desk if we could request newly renovated rooms and if two rooms could be adjacent. They confirmed it was possible, just to add a note to the reservation. We arrived at 1:30 AM, and our rooms were perfectly arranged. Excellent! Facilities: There's a game area and a gym on the first floor. I really hope they consider adding a self-service laundry facility and EV charging stations! The absence of charging stations is genuinely inconvenient."

"As someone traveling with family, I have high standards for hotels, and this one met almost all my core requirements. • **Value for Money**: For this price point, the facilities and services provided are exemplary. • **Well-Equipped**: The gym equipment is new, the pool water is clean, and the business center facilities are also very useful. It's incredibly convenient for those who need to work. • **Exceptional Hygiene**: The cleanliness is impeccable; you can walk barefoot in the room without feeling it's dirty, and there isn't a trace of limescale in the bathroom, which really put my mind at ease. • **Excellent Dining**: The breakfast offers a rich variety, blending Chinese and Western options, and the local specialties are particularly authentic. The restaurant staff are also very attentive. Overall, this is a very mature and trustworthy hotel in terms of hardware, software, and management."

"I brought my parents here for the National Day holiday. The hotel's biggest advantage is its unbeatable, truly prime location, right next to the Olympic Sailing Center and the venue for the SCO Summit. It offers panoramic city and sea views. The hotel facilities are a bit older, but they're still up to standard, considering the renovation was some years ago, and they've been well-maintained. Service gets a big thumbs-up. It was raining heavily on our first day and my umbrella had an issue, which Vivian helped coordinate and resolve. The hotel also helped us with a late check-out on the second day and even gave us mooncakes. The breakfast spread was very rich and varied, and even though there were a lot of people, it was still well-managed. The hotel's service response was also very quick."

"For my trip to Qingdao, I was looking for a hotel with convenient access to transportation, shopping, and dining. After reading numerous traveler reviews, I opted for the newly opened Qingdao Yihai Garden Hotel (May Fourth Square branch). The room was spacious, bright, and comfortable, and the cleanliness was also quite good. The facilities were comprehensive. Although there wasn't a direct sea view, the city lights at night were still dazzling. Breakfast was plentiful, offering local specialty snacks that tasted great. Even with many guests staying, everything remained quite orderly. A notable feature: The laundry room was a very popular spot, often with queues forming. The hotel site originally served as the Qingdao Workers' Sanatorium, which I personally believe contributes to its 'quiet oasis in a bustling city' feel. Downside: As some other guests have mentioned, the shower water temperature would occasionally fluctuate between hot and cold, and the water spray was too dispersed. I hope this can be improved."

"Scenery: Absolutely stunning! The beach is right downstairs, and there are reefs nearby, making it super convenient for digging in the sand and catching crabs. We even got to see the sunrise – absolutely beautiful! Service: Smiles all around! Since we were a family of three, the hotel provided an extra blanket. Plus, it was my dad's birthday, and they gifted him a delicious full-sized cake, even providing a takeaway box, which was incredibly thoughtful! Travel Photography: The photographer from Jinghong Travel Photography was very professional. The photo compositions and settings were gorgeous, making it hard to choose just a few! Extras: We booked two city-view rooms, and the hotel upgraded one to a sea-view. It was a huge room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean – it really uplifted our spirits! I initially thought the hotel would be old, but it's actually very well-maintained. The women's changing room at the pool even had a hot tub, steam room, and sauna, which was a pleasant surprise!"
