I was bought this as a gift from my siblings for my 50th birthday. Emailed some queries the week before, one of which was did you need to book a slot to use the pool. They responded but failed to answer that question. Arrived, hotel lobby looked lovely so I was impressed. Asked about the pool, one slot left which was half an hour before the strict 6pm evening mealtime so we couldn't use it. Got back in time for the evening meal. Told where to sit. Meal was ok, not wow. Youngest people there and we're 50 and 60! Bedroom was very warm with a very large unsightly brown stain on the ceiling and several broken tiles in the bathroom. Breakfast-again strict time and told where to sit. Poor quality ingredients, very salty bacon and catering sausage with lidl sauces on offer. My husband went back to our room at 9.20 for a scheduled work phonecall. I followed after 10 minutes. 9.40 am member of housekeeping walked into our room. Same member of staff then ambushed us at the lift practically begging for a tip as apparently cleaning staff don't get a share of the tips. My husband obliged. We were later told by reception staff/possibly manager, that this isn't the case, they opted out of the tip sharing scheme. We left and received phonecalls and an email regarding an outstanding bar bill, which was a completely honest oversight on my husband's part. I responded to the email, £38.70 for 3 drinks!, I let them know that we hadn't enjoyed our stay and they responded that my comments would be forwarded to the manager. It's now over 48hrs later and I haven't received any contact regarding my feedback.
