Mode - the Old School House

We have stayed at the Mode hotel a few times before and decided to try the apartments,the old school house looked impressive,we booked apartment 3 for 2 of us the accomadation was lovely and homely, some things need a bit of updating as showing signs of wear and tear,very warm and cosy though,unfortunatly we had a leak and had to change our room,staff were very efficient and quick to respond and very apolagetic ( not there fault) so we moved to apt 3, again lovely accomadation,again a few niggles but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay,we are looking at coming back for the illuminations.

This is only a review for apartment 7, and I can not comment as to the others in the block. We arrived on Saturday evening to find that the immersion heater had not been put on before out arrival, so we had no hot water in the apartment. I could not find the switches for the said heater, as there are 2 that need to be on. A call to the help line number was of little use, as the lady on the line clearly did not know what an immersion heater was, and kept telling me how to turn on the shower. A man was dispatched, but by the time he arrived, we had found the second switch, and turned the heater on. Unfortunately, it was to late to generate any hot water before we had to leave for the party for which we had travelled. The bracket holding the shower head was broken and totally ineffective, leaving you with no option but to hold the shower head in one hand and to try and wash yourself with your other. The drawers in the wardrobe in the double room collapsed into a twisted heap upon trying to pull one out, though 10 mins of banging and forcing managed to wedge them back together so they did not jam the wardrobe doors, though were not usable. The apartment could have done with a good clean from top to bottom, though wasn't to bad. It's a shame, because with very little outlay, it could be a lovely little apartment. The location is great, with plenty of parking on the street next to the apartment, we could not get onto the attached car park, but that was not an issue.

We booked the old school house while visiting relatives in the area. The apartment is ideally located for st.annes, its town and its beach. We had a top floor apartment of three bedrooms, a lounge and a kitchen, all were very clean and warm. We had stayed here before, while it was still very good, it is starting look a little tired, a few signs of wear and damage that haven’t been repaired. That said, We would stay here again.

We stayed just out of Blackpool as we were looking for somewhere a bit more modern and with a separate bedroom for our little one. Mode at the old school looked perfect and had the added bonus of parking. The apartment appeared great, was clean and tidy and had everything you needed apart from central heating and a decent shower. Sadly the apartment was cold, there were only 2 heaters, a fixed one in the living room and a mobile one missing a wheel to share between the two bedrooms. We also had to turn on the hot water when we got in at 7.30pm, not ideal when we wanted to get the little one washed and to bed. We all wanted showers in the morning, this was electric so no issue with the hot water but the shower head kept flopping down and the water pressure was poor, not great when the room itself was very cold. Sadly this room didn't live up to expectations. We stayed in number 7 x

We rented the top floor 3 bedroom apartment, it was fantastic. It's such a nice home from home place with lovely features. Facilities are great, and had lots of space. Parking is good, and the street its on is quite and just a lovely area. Booking in when we arrived was very easy and straight forward whilst maintaining a very secure set up. The lady (Amelia) I spoke to was easy to contact and was more than welcoming and helpful. We have stayed before a few years ago and I wouldn't stay anywhere else... really is a great place. 10 out of 10 in all areas. Thankyou I confirm that all photos on the website are true to the old school house, Lytham St Annes. It's a great area to stay in as only a 5 min drive into blackpool, and takes a nice 5min walk into St Anne's, Busses also run ever 20mins into blackpool. It really is a perfect place to stay for a variety of things to do.

10 extended family members stayed at the Old School House for the September weekend. We had 3 apartments and loved them all. Each apartment had its own character and were spotlessly clean. Well done to Lyndsey who keeps the place ship shape and always went about her business with a smile on her face. The accommodation itself is only a 10 minute stroll to the square and buses are regularly available to Blackpool. Overall a lovely place to stay and certainly worth our 5 star review. We will return.
