La Cabana, Maamigili

This place is unreal. Surrounded by palm trees, close to the beach. Team providing everything for snorkeling and other boat and sea activities. Rooms and neighbourhood are cosy and quite and staff went above and beyond to make me feel like at home. Will definitely come back here next year for a staycation.

A very relaxing place to stay for your time in the Maldives. La Cabana is beautifully maintaned, clean and comfortable. The people were amazing and very helpul. The dives were wonderful, with many attractions, f.e. the manta ray, octopus, sharks and many other species. The boat is great for diving or snorkeling expeditions, as well as fishing trips, and the crew knows the best locations for all three. Cool snacks on the boat. We caught many fish, and we could grill them at La Cabana - or enjoy a delicious fish curry freshly prepared on the spot. Breakfast was yummy, with fresh fruits, and available from 7 am to 10:30 am, so sleepyheads can sleep in :) Everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Many thanks to Nanda and Armi and the crew, as well as Shahid, for this awesome vacation. Definitely recommend La Cabana, and the island itself is a happy and friendly place. And a mention about the restaurant "The Chef" - must try!

Lovely guesthouse with beautiful, clean rooms and fantastic staff. The service was amazing, all my wishes were fulfilled perfectly and I was treated incredibly kindly by everyone. The dive and boat team is fantastic as well, always took great care of me and made sure I didn’t lack anything. They took me to the best diving spots and gave me some unforgettable memories. I am extremely grateful to the entire team and HIGHLY recommend this guesthouse, especially for divers!

I visited Maamigili Island for 3 nights with my sister. Stayed at this beautiful Hotel and what an incredible experience it was. Nishan picked us from the Jetty Point in car. At hotel we were greeted with fresh coconut water from the trees in the hotel garden. It was so refreshing. We were lucky to get a free upgrade to Super Deluxe room which has a sea view. Rooms were clean, spacious, and equipped with all modern amenities (Air conditioner, Mini fridge, hair dryer, Kettle, good size almirah, huge table, table and chair set). Washrooms were also pretty clean. Nishan had an impressive response time. Since it was our first time to Maldives we had many questions, he answered them all promptly and patiently. Staff here made sure that we had an amazing experience and had enough time to relax also in between excursions. Whale sharks are just 5 minutes speedboat drive away from this Island. We did Snorkelling with Whale Sharks accompanied by Nishan and Muvaahid. They also gave us snorkelling lessons. Went for Discover Scuba Diving with Dive instructor Midhoo and Ibrahim (saw various type of fishes and beautiful corals). Midhoo has got more than 2 decades of diving experience so we felt extremely safe with them. Also went for Night Fishing with the owner of the Hotel and two other guys (Caught a Grouper fish, saw glowing planktons in sea and also got a very good view of Milky way, spotted many shooting stars here). That night we had barbeque dinner of the fishes we caught. These guys made sure that we had a great experience at the hotel and also underwater. Would definitely visit them again !!

La cabana is located on a local island called Maamigili, 2 hour speed boat ride from Male international airport. One can also take a domestic flight from Male to VAM (which is an airport on this island) which will take 20 minutes. Nishan is a very friendly host and he took good care of us. It was our first trip to Maldives and information provided by Nishan was crucial for us. The guesthouse has an associated dive house. It is nicely built and is value for money. The room was spacious and furniture there was good. The beach is a five minute walk from it. The beach is unspoilt, clean and amazing with a hammock in the backdrop of turquoise blue water. Nishan lent us his scooty and that was very helpful in exploring the island. To help set expectations right for future travellers, this is unlike other hotels in the sense that they don't provide room service or allowed to take food to the room. The breakfast didn't have much variety. They ordered food from a nearby restaurant and it took very long most of the times. Later we discovered an amazing restaurant called Beach Fresh and our food needs were sorted. Cycles were not available there when we went. Also we were the only guests in the guesthouse, as we went in March end. We would recommend to book transport to and from Male at this resort as the price was less than what was offered by other resorts. This guest house is recommended for being reasonably priced (as most resorts in Maldives are very expensive) and for the friendly nature of its caretaker.
