We, group of batch mates decided to have our get together at Oruthota Chalet Hotel, Digana. We had an amazing day; especially the general manager Mr.Samarakoon along with a very hard working and dedicated Chef & other staff went out of their way to arrange a memorable atmosphere. All we were in awe of the elegant view of this hotel coz this place has an incredible vibe, so lively and inviting. Would highly recommend for a relax day outing & to try out for an overnight stay too.

This was our second visit and it has improved since 2021 however visitors who are looking for a peaceful place should give it a miss as it mainly caters for large groups and wedding parties etc who love loud music and make a lot of noise. As one reviewer has pointed out they need to decide what direction they are going in as the beautiful environment could make for a wonderful retreat . A lot of updating needed in the rooms and especially the bathrooms.

We went in for a day outing and were amazed by the beauty of the environment. It was so...quiet... Which is exactly what we needed after a tiring month. The Victoria reservoir adds a nice touch of freshness to the very well-maintained gardens and tree houses. The food was well prepared, however, the seafood accompaniments need a bit of guidance in the correct direction (You do not serve tomato ketchup with expensive seafood.) The staff were very accommodating and the service was First Class. We would especially like to thank Mr. Supun, who served us, as he was extremely friendly, hospitable and efficient. We wish him the very best! Thank you! See you soon!

We were here with G Adventures and had a wonderful stay. Rooms are very spacious, clean and some even have fridges. The Pool is quite big and the garden very nice! The view is spectacular. The food is delicious and the amount of spice can easily adapted to one’s preference, as not everything is very spicy. Sarath gave us a very informative und really nice tour of the local village. Thank you so much for the unique experience!

"I went there with my staff on our annual staff trip. It's a great place to have a staff outing as they have ample space for activities. The pool was great, the food was good, and the staff and service were excellent (although sometimes à la carte food orders were delayed). Mr. Samarakoon, the general manager, was really helpful, as were the chef, operation manager, restaurant manager, and three girls from the reception. Located on the edge of the Victoria Reservoir along a short track from the main road is this sensational hotel. A wonderfully spacious, clean and comfortable room with a beautiful outlook onto the “lake”. Peaceful with only the sounds of nature interjecting. The staff were all super attentive and obliging with Samantha particularly so. No request was a problem. Sensational food, both Sri Lankan and European style if you prefer. There was a clean swimming pool. They organised us a few local trips with local tour guide Kevin. Nothing was too much trouble. Brilliant!
