Our family of 6 (inc 4 teenage boys) recently stayed in apartment 102/103. The apartment is beautiful and so spacious, plenty of room for 8. The view from the kitchen and 2 balconies is stunning. Very well equipped for our week long stay. Golfo Gabella is quiet and relaxing with a great, well maintained pool & jacuzzi and sun deck. We ate in La Gabella several times (food & atmosphere is excellent) and lake side restaurants near the Lido. We visited Cannobio, the lido there, took the train to Locarno, Switzerland (highly recommend), hired a boat on the lake and used SUPs. There are a few lovely coffee/ gelato shops close by and a small supermarket for all essentials. Highly recommend a holiday here and we hope to return someday.

Beautiful place to stay, and renting the boat was a great experience. It was our first time, and our kids really enjoyed it. The team that gave instructions and supported with onboarding was really great. Although quite a lot of money, you get the value back. Half a day is enough to experience a boat trip, but can imagine people wanting to visit other villages around the lake, would like a whole day.

The location is great, the people are friendly. The description of the apartment did not match reality. The furniture was old and torn. Due to the extra bed the door did not close. Etcetera. The people were aware and understanding and even tried to fix some of the issues. Be careful because there are several owners and the apartments will be different.

The rooms and the amenities in the resort are really good and the location is good for Maccagno and also for exploring the rest of the Maggiore area. You get one key set when you arrive, it can make life complicated if you are a group of adults who might come and go at different times- you can ask for another set (as we discovered on the last day!) Recommend hiring on of Roman's boats from GoGa Experience attached to the resort. Also, the new bar and ice cream parlour will be a great addition to the resort.

Nicely located on the lake...spacious rooms. Nothing else to do. 1 bar where you can still go in the evening, but you should certainly not be thirsty and then enjoy delicious watery cocktails. Only a supermarket. When booking you save the cost of breakfast. Not worth anything and certainly not the service there. Walk around blindly. Your ordered coffee or tea arrives after you have already eaten. Only the stars for the room, swimming pool and location on the lake.

We booked our stay at the Golfo Gabella Lake Resort in September 2021 (with Greenstorm Hotel vouchers) and then arrived in June 2022. What we then experienced was subterranean!!! We were assigned a room without a balcony that was part of an apartment. The room had the charm of an 80s youth hostel. Wardrobe, bed, table - everything was there but nothing else. The lock had already been ripped out of the shared entrance door to the apartment! Since we had traveled with friends, we of course had the opportunity to look at their rooms - bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom and balcony. That's how it should be. When we asked why we were getting such a dump, we were only told that nothing else was available - unless we were willing to pay an additional €370.00. Then we too would get a larger apartment. It is an impertinence and a cheek to treat foreign guests like this. The locals are apparently more welcome. What is also a disgrace is the extensive breakfast buffet for €15.00 per person per day. If that's what you want to call the extensive buffet with hard rolls, 2 slices of ham, rock-hard eggs and jam??? Conclusion - once at Golfo Gabella is enough!!!!!!!
