We enjoyed our recent stay at this comfortable bed and breakfast. The location was perfect, close to the ferry pier but on the quieter side of downtown. The grounds of the inn are lovely with many flowers and shrubs. We enjoyed the afternoon refreshments and the breakfast offerings. We also appreciated the baggage drop-off service they provided. Thank you! Marilee S.

Had a lovely stay in this charming B&B. Centrally located but very quiet. Very clean and well kept, with 4 star towel art in the rooms. Managers Blanca and Dave are warm, welcoming and attentive. They are great resources for island activities. Highly recommended!

Our stay at the Metivier Inn was perfect . The innkeepers Blanca and Dave are incredible. They strive to make everything absolutely perfect at the inn . Every room is spotless and extra decorative touches are so nice . The grounds have beautiful gardens meticulously maintained. We were lucky to enjoy all of the Halloween and fall decorations! The breakfast assortment is so nice with so many options . We enjoyed the cookies at 3pm and the hot coffee. The innkeepers are truly inspirational. We are so happy we chose Metivier Inn and will definitely return !

I can’t even list all the great times we’ve had there since 1992. I’ve been as a couple, and up the groups of family/friends up to 16-18 people. The grounds are beautiful and it is great to porch sit and hear the hooves of the horses passing by.

This was a beautiful B &B on a quiet street that was warm and inviting. We were served warm cookies in afternoon and an bountiful breakfast in the morning. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. Our hosts were very helpful in making sure our luggage got there and texting us to let us know our room was ready ahead of time.

I waited to post this so it’s closer to summer and most people’s vacation time. We were excited to try this inn due to recommendations from friends who’ve frequented this establishment for a few years now for their July 4th vacation. When we arrived and went to the front desk to check in I personally was underwhelmed by the lack of a warm greeting. I put it aside blaming a possible bad day for the owner. We were checked in and given our key with an explanation of when breakfast was available. We got to our room in the main house, opened the door, and were immediately hit with a damp/moldy smell. I know coming from New England, some accommodation, usually motels that are beachside can have this odor. My boyfriend said we could ask to be moved but he highly doubted they’d have another room available because it was Labor Day weekend, and the annual Mackinac Bridge Walk was the next morning. So we unpacked and went out for dinner. When we returned we tried opening a window to air it out but small nats were flying in. When we awoke the next morning my clothes were all damp, pates in books curled up, and even my clothes that were still in my luggage had an odor. We mentioned it at the front desk and got a surprised owner reaction as if they had no idea the room was like this. I then thought, ok maybe the cleaning staff failed to mention it, and they really didn’t know. They made no offer to move us so we left for the bridge walk. When we got back the chair seats in our room were so damp you couldn’t sit on them. We went down to the front porch to socialize and read. My boyfriend had a long conversation going with a guests who’d be staying there for over ten years. He told him the owners have had major issues with their splits since they were installed including leaks in the walls. When we got back to our room the rug was now fully damp so I went to the front desk and pushed to be moved. The owners went back and forth regarding what room to put us in. They gave us a key to a room directly across from ours, that faces the main drag, vs backyard. We opened the door to the new room and were delighted with the accommodations because the room smelled perfect and everything was dry. We were unpacked when the husband came up and told us he had to move us, a mistake was made. We got moved down the hall, another room facing the back of the house, with less than desirable amenities. The shower for instant was a postage stamp, vs the tip combo in the previous rooms. The mattress on the bed was horrible as well. At the end of our stay a small, and I mean small, discount was applied to the final bill. What gets me the most, is at no point had the owners taken responsibility and simply explained it was an issue with their split AC on the wall. They acted like the issue was new and they weren’t aware of it. To add insult, the day we got moved we went out back to sit and read. Were were in the Adirondack chairs on the top of the hill facing the back of the house. The s

I have stayed on the island for the last 40 yrs. and this has been one of my best stays. The Inn is charming, clean, quiet, staff extremely helpful and a nice breakfast selection. The location is off the main street, yet has a comfy porch to view the horses go by. This will be my first choice next year

Dave and Blanca are exceptional hosts. They couldn't have been nicer and their Inn and grounds are absolutely beautiful! As with most B&B's of this charming vintage, the bedrooms are small but adequate. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was very quiet at night...which I appreciated so much as I am a very light sleeper. The breakfast was yummy and it changes every morning. In the afternoon, there are a few variety of home baked cookies to munch on as you rest on their wonderful front porch. This Inn is extremely clean and in a prime location for getting around the entire Island. We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great place to stay on Mackinac Island.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Metivier Inn for 3 nights. It was a wonderful experience. We both liked the location - one street away from Main Street. It's an easy walk to all of the restaurants and shops on Main Street. This was the first hotel we stayed post-COVID where our room was serviced each day without us asking. Breakfast was wonderful. There were also towels to wipe off our bikes in the morning and an air pump. My husband did not want to stay at a B&B but he said the Metivier Inn changed his mind.
