Hostal Cruz Sol

The location is good as it is close to the city center, but it was disappointing that the water temperature in the shower was not high. The cleanliness was inferior to that of a hotel. When entering the building from outside, it was difficult to tell which floor the Hostal was on. The bathroom was small, so I would not recommend it for larger people. It was cheaper than the surrounding accommodations, so it is a good choice for people who value affordability.

I just stayed with my family for 4 nights in this hostal in the heart of Madrid. The rating is excellent: the room (since it is a central hostal) is not large but spacious enough and very well soundproofed. We were lucky enough to have a room overlooking Plaza Santa Cruz which is a little gem and we didn't hear any noise even on Saturday night, when the square was super lively. The internal bathroom is small but brand new, with a large and functional shower. The building in which the property is located (third floor) is old and well kept. The cleanliness is absolute both inside the room and in the common areas. The location is the real strong point of the hostal, right in the center, on a delightful little square, a few steps from Plaza del Sol and a few steps from Plaza Mayor; a twenty minute walk from the Prado Museum and a ten minute walk from Gran Via. From the hostel you can get around the center of Madrid even without taking public transport. Finally, the price is competitive compared to other similar properties. I really recommend it and, if I return to Madrid (a city that I really liked), I will go back!!

Clean and comfortable place, we have been repeating for years and we will continue doing so because Aurora is already one more of our girls' trip!! We took a girl (my nephew) who is now 8 years old and was 1 when we went for the first time... Get an idea hehehe

The hostel itself is simple; as does the room. The best thing is its location, in the heart of the capital (very close to the Plaza Mayor). It is located next to a very atmospheric square, with many areas of both leisure, emblematic and restaurants; The worst thing is to park in the area if you go by private car (you must remember that it is a restricted area "Madrid Central" due to the issue of low emissions). The room is small, but quite acceptable for short stays; equipped with TV (small), refrigerator, fairly wide bed, AA.CC. "Split type", Wi-Fi (although the signal was quite weak) and very important in my opinion... with a private toilet and shower (not shared with the other guests). In addition to a small balcony and good natural light, and quite quiet for where it is located. The reception and treatment was very helpful and correct, without incidents or anything to highlight about it. Reservation made through their own website and they took into account my comments about preferences. (THANK YOU). Cleanliness and odors, nothing to comment on, everything very correct. If they continue in this way, at tight and competitive prices as until now; I don't hesitate to stay there again. GREETINGS
