Very Disappointing - Not a 4-Star Hotel Most of the staff were amazing, especially Kala Alagumuni at reception, who was always smiling and helpful. Unfortunately, my overall stay was ruined by poor service and maintenance. The biggest issue was with Selvam, the restaurant manager. When my kids were unwell and too sick to come down for breakfast, politely asked for 2 waffles, 2 toast, and an egg to be sent to the room. Instead of showing empathy, Selvam responded rudely and dismissively, saying loudly: "Why can't they come down? Ask them to come down and eat." This kind of arrogance is completely unacceptable in hospitality. The F&B Manager, Abu, showed no interest in correcting or supervising his staff, which reflects very poorly on management. On top of this, the room conditions were below standard: ripped curtains, broken sofa legs, floorboards coming loose, stained toilets, broken bed frames, and even rust on the bathroom amenities. Ihave photos and videos to prove it. While some staff like Kala were excellent, one rude manager and poor room maintenance completely destroyed my experience. For a property marketed as 4-star, this was shocking. My advice: avoid this hotel until management makes serious changes.

Good location and atmosphere. Rooms are kept clean. Could improve on toilet cleanliness, the tile crevices are stained. Towels are not too clean, appears darkened. Good value for money. Staff service is perfect, very responsive and efficient. Various breakfast options

We had a really pleasant experience staying at Hotel Poppys, Madurai. The hospitality stood out right from the moment we arrived. Special mention to Nitya and Kala akkas from the staff – they were extremely friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm smile. Their genuine care made us feel right at home. The buffet spread was excellent, offering multiple options to suit different tastes. Every meal felt fresh and well-prepared, which added to the overall comfort of the stay. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, providing a perfect space to relax after our temple visits in Madurai. Housekeeping maintained it really well throughout our stay. The hotel also has a nice ambience, convenient location, and good facilities, making it a great choice whether you’re here for pilgrimage, leisure, or business. Overall, our stay was memorable, and we would definitely recommend Poppys Madurai to anyone visiting the city. Looking forward to returning again!

We are a family of four, including a child, who visited Madurai from August 22 to 24 and stayed at Poppy's Hotel in two premium rooms. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all necessary amenities. The hotel offers 24/7 front desk support, a swimming pool, a restaurant, a bar, and a gym. It also provides parking and driver services. The breakfast menu includes a variety of options catering to Indian and regional cuisines. The staff were friendly and spoke both Tamil (the primary language of Tamil Nadu) and English, so we had no communication issues. Room service was available, and the prices were reasonable. The Madurai temple is a 20-minute drive away, and there are several good South Indian restaurants nearby.

Amazing property with nearest vicinity to the Madurai Airport. Rooms are ultra modern, spacious, with all required amenities for a comfortable and Hassle free stay. We stayed at a Junior suite , which can easily accommodate 4 guests with two extra beds leaving enough room for free movement around the room. Bed quality and bath and bed linen are of top and premium quality. Staffs are very great and kind specially thanks to kala for take care of my father in stay..

Stayed two nights. The hotel is in a reasonably quiet location and the lobby and common spaces make a strong first impression. Unfortunately, only one elevator was functioning, and it was very slow. Check-in is advertised at 14:00. I arrived at 14:20 and still waited about 30 minutes because the room wasn’t ready. The room was spacious but dated and would benefit from refurbishment. The king bed consisted of two separate mattresses with a gap in the middle. Power outlets were limited: only two worked, and none were near the bed. There were two sockets behind the headboard, but neither functioned. The A/C controls were confusing, with unlabeled buttons mounted on the wall. Amenities included mini-fridge, electric kettle, and safe. The bathroom was also quite dated. The shower had low water pressure, and no shelf space for toiletries. The water wasn't hot enough. Wi-Fi worked well throughout my stay. Breakfast offered a good selection.

The room was very spacious and the extra bed for the third guest was an ACTUAL bed and not a folding mattress. The dinner and breakfast had lots of options and had a nice ambience! The staff were hospitable and responded to our requests in good time. We were supported by Kala, a lovely member of the POPPY’S team, throughout our experience. She was particularly kind, informative and a friendly face during the stay. The world needs more smiling faces like hers!
