Overall a good experience. Superb location and walking distance to most of the sights. Very helpful staff. Food was not good, apart from one fish curry I had which was excellent but the included breakfast buffet was not very good. Pool was not in the cleanest condition but still nice. Overall good experience though as there are lots of places to eat around and the staff were very good and very helpful.

A real oasis in the town. Set around a courtyard full of trees and plants and a swimming pool.large rooms, comfy beds and an excellent restaurant. All clean.. menu at restaurant good for all meals. Beautiful omelette pancakes or dosa for breakfast as well as an Indian breakfast. Management and staff are friendly and helpful. A group of us stayed for more than a week.

This heritage style hotel is close to the beach, restaurants and is a bit of paradise in busy Mahabalipuram. Excellent breakfast - buffet style or fresh dosa or omelette. Exception service - from the reception desk (Davya and S Jasvat Dor - very helpful in organising birthday cake) - to the restaurant and room service - such kind, professional and helpful people. We loved our room - clean and well appointed. We have been staying at this hotel for a number of years over the time we travel to India. Julie & Christopher Orchard Australia

Hotel Mahabs is "a mixed bag": the rooms are tired (and lacking hot water in the shower) and there's no room cleaning. (I was there for four nights and this was never done...I had ti ask for basic supplies when they ran out.) But, the staff are (mostly) friendly, the terrace outside my room was lovely, and the pool (although falling apart at the edges) was a real pleasure to have. Overpriced for what is offered, but the pool helps!

The hotel was very peaceful and clean. The staffs were very good and their behaviour was wonderful. The stay was short but still it felt great. The pool was very good and the food from the restaurant inside was also great. It's a great deal to stay in it.
