Fourth day of our honeymoon organized by Turisanda, we stop in Malang, where we find our hotel waiting for us. Tired from the journey, after hours on the train and bus, we hope to finally take a shower and lie down in bed, but unfortunately, the room assigned to us will reserve an unpleasant surprise for us. Bathroom with tub and curtain dirty with hair and stained and dirty sheets. I decide to go to reception and explain the problem, and without hesitation they decide to change my room with a similar one. After being accompanied to the new room by the reception staff, I noticed with displeasure in front of them that the new room presents the same problems. They then changed the sheets several times until they finally found clean, stain-free ones and the towels. As per Indonesian custom, the staff were very kind and friendly in listening to our requests, and apologized several times, and I was also offered the suite. The hotel appears new and the reception is very spacious and large, it has a swimming pool and friendly staff, but it has an obvious problem with the laundry, and certainly, the cleanliness standards do not reflect those of a 4 star in any other location in the world. I don't feel like recommending it for stays longer than 1/2 night in malang.

Our room, facing the pool and the mall, was spacious, clean, and plain, without decorations. The room looked efficient and institutional, rather like a schoolroom. In fact, the echoing shouts of children playing in. and passing through, the halls throughout the morning, day and evening, made it feel as if our bedroom was one of many rooms in an elementary school. Probably more families than usual are on staycations during weekends. The breakfast from 6-10 am was good with many choices in the buffet and a lot of staff providing support. All of the staff are friendly and eager to be of service. The hotel is in a very convenient location. We took a taxi to the hotel, and we didn't know if the driver would be charged Rp. 10,000 for parking after he left us, so we felt compelled to pay the driver for parking, just in case. We discovered later that usually they don't charge for parking if the car is in the complex for less than 10 minutes. The reception staff told us that, if the driver parks his car (somewhere) and comes to the reception desk with us, he can get a document that will exempt the car from the parking charge, but it was always less of a thrash just to pay the parking charge. Considering the price, we feel the Aria Gajayana provides an average value on weekends.

If you'd like a hotel with a view in Malang, and centrally located inside the city, this is the hotel for you. It gives me a great value for the money. I stayed at standard twin bed room with a balcony with mountain view. The location is superb. I can walk 10-15 minutes to Kawi Street, where many restaurants located. However, a few things that can be improved. I went to the gym at 6 am, and no one there. However, AC wasn't turned on. So, after 20 minutes of intense workouts, you'll be drenched with sweat. No towel inside the gym was available. Bring your own from your room and bottle water as well. Maintenance and house keeping can be improved. I visited my sister who stayed on the 7th fl executive suite, and there was a hole in the curtain. And the room could use more deep cleaning. The bed sheets in my room can be replaced with the one without hole in it. With the years, some of the amenities could be replaced.

I was staying there with my family. Totally got Balinese vibes with a good ambience. Room is just common as usual but the outdoor area is great. Maybe you need to improve your hospitality of staffs. Sorry, as I am a hotelier too, I would say the hospitality should be increased more. I was about to re-schedule my stay but I canceled because it was not FOC. But then when I checked-in the staff was asking me for the charge of re-schedule (in fact I didn't re-schedule). I mean how could you missed it? I also was asking for the hairdryer to be sent to my room but the staff didn't give it directly until I need to call back and remind and no sorry at all on the phone. Oh I can't remember the name but there was a guy that assist me to the room and when I met him in the next day he still remembered me and greeting me in polite way. I didn't get his name but he has clear skin and thin body. Say my thank to him. But overall it was great to have you (Ubud Cottage Malang) for my holiday. Seriously, didn't mean to say anything bad. It was just suggestion to improve. Thanks

GGuest UserThe best hotel I stayed in during my trip to Indonesia. The whole hotel has central air conditioning. It is the tallest building nearby. The quilts and sheets are very new and clean. There is a guy at the front desk who speaks very good English. The restaurant in the hotel tastes very good and provides free drinking water. It is about a 10-minute drive from Jodipan Rainbow Village (use GRAB and choose the nearest point). The only drawback is that there are many mosques around, and they are always playing scriptures, which is not affected by us who don't understand Indonesian.

The swimming pool is small but well maintained. The room is old, clean, but tv cannot watch as all channel are grainy. I would not return, as there is better alternative.

CcummunsnalaI stayed for one night. It’s not far from train station, less than 20 minutes walk. The hotel allowed me to check-in earlier despite no personal request when booking. I booked the cheapest rate without breakfast because I didn’t know what they offer for breakfast during these times. One thing I remember the most is that the towel and linen smelled nice, I think it’s jasmine. Amenities were enough, including slippers. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Luggage rack and door handle were not in a good condition (screws were loose), and the safe box was locked, I couldn’t use it. Hotel played instrumental musics on speakers, but it’s quite disturbing when it’s 10pm and you could hear it from the room. Cleanliness need to be improved. I found the dirts from previous guest under the bed frame, and public restroom on lobby wasn’t clean enough. Receptionists were ok, I didn’t interact with other staffs. I don’t mind staying here again.

The rooms are small, with the worst part being the leak in the bathroom, causing water splashes during showers and creating puddles everywhere. It's uncomfortable, and they only provide one wet mat. Despite requesting a non-smoking room, I was given a general room (as per the receptionist), and there's still a lingering smell of cigarette smoke. The promised ozone generator was never provided, even upon check-out. The breakfast area is extremely cramped, making it uncomfortable. This experience is significantly different from Alana in Bali and Jogja.

And the front desk, FENI. and the manager ANIE are the worst people I've ever encountered in hospitality industry.(photos attached). My experience was, I came with two other people. Booked and paid two rooms for 3 days 2 nights. Check in process, the front desk lady isn't even warm at all. Very rude. And she asked for deposit. And I said I got no cash so I will just go in the room first, and waiting for my other friend to arrived from the airport to just pay the deposit later upon their arrival. She rudely said NO. I asked nicely but she again said NO. She said I just need to wait, or use my credit card. And because her attitude was already HORRIBLE, I then refused to go along with her request. She then added ”You're from the big city, impossible you have no money”. Unbelievable. Long story short, I asked for the manager and surprisingly, the manager is no help either. She even more rude. Once she said ”you got no cash? People from big city must have credit card right?” Yet I still asked for help and understanding to pay in a couple hours. She said ok, (rudely) asked for ID card of three of us until we pay the deposit. Then I agreed. But because I left my wallet at home, I gave her my passport. And she touched the passport and said rudely ”I don't want this, I want ID card!”. I don't understand how she doesn't consider passport is a legitimate government ID. Then we decided to better leave and book another hotel instead staying at this already HORRIBLE hospitality. They also doesn't want to give us refund. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. DONT STAY

MMaillaSomaOverall this hotel is good. It starts from me to check in, service, hygiene & facilities, not to mention style. It made me fall in love, it happened that I was in room 140 and then I was offered a cleaning room in the morning. It's just the thing in the KM section that really has to be renoved, Yellow floors are cleaned with vixal I think it can, KM for those who bring children must be dirty because the elevation is too expensive, another trs for tissue in the bathroom please do it in the place because the water splashes are wet. The phone doesn't work, the TV is very clear, the wifi is like a 5 watt light redup hehe.. Breakfast is also enough, the menu is a bit of a crumb. But I don't understand how they're especially making salads, because they're a vegetable sauce.

SsonniedewantoroFirst reach the hotel you will see classic European architectural style, feel like in a european style palace. one of the cheapest hotels that provide bathtub in Malang starts its lowest class. spacious room, very comfortable to rest because it is quite quiet. the facilities provided are also quite complete from toiletries, safe, refrigerator and hairdryer. the staff is friendly and very helpful, I am grateful to be able to early checkin in advance. the price of food in hotel standard restaurant but taste good. The hotel also sells bread and ice cream at affordable prices. the lights in the room are quite dim, very suitable for you who need to maximize relax and rest. the downside is if you bring a motor or will rent a motorbike and stay, the motor parking location is not convenient. overall i am satisfied with this hotel
