Hotel Vega

The service, staff and the view are amazing. The Breakfast each morning was delicious and personalized to order in addition to a expansive spread of pastries, fruit, and yogurts. The Room was VERY clean and comfortable. loved the entire experience and would highly recommend Hotel Vega again.

We stayed at Hotel Vega, as a party of six and could find nothing negative to say about Hoptel Vega. The hotel is very well appointed, with a fresh, modern interior which, together with the rooms are maintained spotlessly clean. Marco, the owner, was on hand at almost every hour of the day, to attend to any needs, and impart his local knowledge; even walking to a local restaurant to confirm our booking as we couldn't get an answer by telephone.

Excellent hotel. Great location in quiet area but very close to centre of Malcesine. Spotless and very well maintained with modern fixtures and fittings. Comfortable rooms and beds. Excellent breakfast with ever changing choices and the view from the breakfast room across the lake is astounding. Staff are great - helpful, pleasant and professional and part of a well organised hotel. We had a great week's stay.

My wife and I are on our honeymoon and just left our 4-day stay in a Junior Suite with lake view at Hotel Vega. The hotel staff is beyond welcoming and goes above and beyond in their accommodations and service. Hotel is clean, beds are comfortable with plenty of AC which was welcoming after warm weather in Venice. The free breakfast we had was fantastic (sunny side up/fried eggs, scrambled eggs, grilled prosciutto, Italian sausage, toast, full cereal and granola bar with yogurts, fresh fruits, croissants, juices, etc… we woke up each morning to sunshine on the water outside our tall glass windows, pool right outside (might be just for suite guests(?)). Maybe 2-3 minute walk to center of town and the ferry stop, amazing restaurants and shops. Maybe 10 minute walk to Monte Baldo gondola. Amazing stay and impeccable service and kindness from Marco (the hands on owner), Angelo, and the amazing receptionists that greet you with smiles.. this AM we had to leave the hotel at 7 (breakfast starts at 7:30), and the awesome restaurant staff/server brought us coffees and said he’d make us a full breakfast, all before the dining room opened. Excellent hotel. Fab choice of restaurants close by. Perfect position on the lake as you can access the lake directly at the back of the hotel. Sunbeds on decking at the back of the hotel and a garden with sunbeds nearby. Lovely pool which is also a jacuzzi. Staff are amazing, nothing was too much trouble. They gave advise as to how to get around the island by giving bus and ferry timetables. Food and drink is of a high standard and prices are in keeping with establishments outside the hotel. The double room with balcony and side view of the lake was a good size. Plenty of storage space. Fab shower and bathroom also had a bidet. Air conditioning works but wasn’t cool enough for us but that’s a personal thing. Even though the hotel is on a Main Street you don’t hear any noise once inside. Highly recommend the area and definitely this hotel.

My wife and I recently returned from a 10 night stay at the Hotel Vega in August. It was our first trip to Italy and Lake Garda had been on my wife’s bucket list for quite a while and it was my birthday during our stay. Yes the transfer to Malcesine is quite long from Verona but is worth it. I had read some reviews prior to going, most of which were positive but a few were quite negative, particularly relating to Marco (Manager). On our arrival, we were met with a wonderfully presented small hotel which was whitewashed in colour and very clean and modern. We checked in at Reception and the Receptionist (Patrizia) was extremely pleasant and courteous. She introduced herself with a warm friendly smile and took us to our room and explained a few things about air-conditioning etc. Chiznia is the other Receptionist and she too was very pleasant and courteous and reserved a table at some restaurants for us. We met Marco straight away in Reception and to be honest, he was polite, pleasant and keen for us to enjoy our stay at the hotel. As it transpires, Marco is also the owner of the hotel and he is extremely passionate about how he has developed the hotel over many years. In fairness, he has created a modern, immaculately clean and pristine hotel, hence he has about 80% returners. Clients are predominantly English and German and all appear to engage with each other. Our bedroom was a twin with balcony (Room 218) as this was the only type available when we booked and whilst photos showed it to appear small in size, it proved adequate for us as a couple and the thing that first stood out to us was how bright and clean it was. Opening the balcony doors allowed the sunlight to penetrate the room which gave a good feel and the white painted walls were so clean. The bathroom was on the small side as was the shower cubicle but as stated, it proved adequate. There were drawers to stow items away and the wardrobe was open but provided 16 coat hangers to hang clothes up. I always take additional hangers so we don’t run short and was able to use these in the hanging space available. A safe was also provided on a free basis. Air conditioning may not satisfy some people but as I rarely sleep with it on it was not a big issue. The balcony was among the longest in the hotel and certainly enhanced our stay as we sat on it before going to bed. Our room was positioned above the one-way road below but again to be fair, we hardly ever heard traffic when the balcony doors were shut (we have requested same room when we return next August). The restaurant serves breakfast only and its position in the hotel offers fantastic views of the lake and mountains. You are allocated a table for the duration of your stay. Breakfast itself is more than adequate, offering a selection of cereals, fresh fruit cocktail, continental breakfast items such as ham, cheese, smoked salmon and other foodstuffs.
