Little „museum“ on the edge of Kruger Park! Friendly people always try to help you with every problem you could have. We had a great experience on the view deck with all the buffalo and elephants come to drink from crocodile river. We booked a wonderful game drive at the lodge with a professional guide. See you next time

We went back again and loved it just as much. Come through twice a year, off the plane from U.K. 4 hour drive and we’re there for a couple of days before heading into Kruger. Always stay at River House Lodge - clean, comfortable and very friendly and a view that’s out of this world. Thanks again Johan and staff - see you in October.

This was our 2nd stay at River House Lodge and again it did not disappoint. There have been some upgrades since our last trip which only enhanced our stay further. On this trip my sister and I decided to just stay at the Lodge and not do a safari as we just wanted to relax and see what animals we could spot from the veranda, we were not disappointed! We saw hippos, elephants, impala, crocodiles, warthogs, water buck and many bird species. An absolutely wonderful 4 days. Our room was clean and very comfortable with all that we needed and was beautifully made up and cleaned daily. The food served at breakfast and dinner was very tasty and plentiful, we had some traditional dishes that we possibly would not have chosen, the food was served hot and nicely presented and breakfast is now served on the terrace which was a lovely addition, especially being joined by a very playful solitary elephant each morning! But what really sets River House Lodge apart is the wonderful staff. Hard working, polite, kind and friendly who always greet you with a smile and ask about your day or if you need anything. I’ve read some negative reviews on here and for me it seems like they are describing somewhere else! This place is not a shiny, faceless corporate hotel, it’s homely, friendly and has a wonderful ambience providing a wonderfully authentic African experience! I can’t wait to go back soon.

Stunning viewing deck over the river. An awesome pool with a view . Rooms and bathroom were average and the aircon wasn't working well.

Excellent stay. Great hospitality and food. We were even able to see two of the big five from the property garden (elephant and rhino). Highly recommended!

Amazing location on the banks of the crocodile river. Quiet, comfortable, friendly and welcoming. Comfortable room and bathroom, everything you could ask was was available. Delicious breakfast outdoors and wildlife right on the river bank. A truly unique lodge our only disappointment was that we could not stay longer.

A great place to overnight before going into the Kruger Park. Johan was most welcoming on our arrival and booking in was swift. Teh setting is superb with many areas to view the Crocodile River and the many animals along its banks. Dinner and breakfast were included which made it excellent value for money.
