Hotel Sorra Daurada Splash

Noisy, kids running around late at night and early morning. Smell of sewage. Fight broke out Sunday night. Police had to be called. No sleep for 2 nights between nightclub on the corner and fights on the steet. Checked out 3 days early. Food awful too. Avoid this hotel.

We booked a 3 generation family holiday at Hotel Sorra Duran’s Splash to celebrate our daughters 30th birthday. Having read a few more of the recent reviews, there were a few concerns about what we would experience. Upon arrival, the staff at reception were very happy to welcome us all (4 adults 2 children) and made usual feel very welcome. This was a great start. We headed up to our rooms, unpack, and have a look around the hotel and local area. Having arrived at almost 5.00pm we had missed the splash pool and pool side bar and snacks, but the bar in the hotel was open. Estrella was the beer on tap, which was very nice, and a good selection of cocktails as well. Some of the ‘all inclusive local spirits’ were not what I would buy, but they were always served in good measure! First meal was dinner, and what a delight it was too. Lots of fresh salad, 3 different hot food areas, and a good selection of cheese and cold meats along with a wide selection of fruit and deserts. The goodness well cooked, and very tasty. This continued with all meals, and a nice American Night, which went down very well. The pool was a little cold, but that’s to be expected in October! Overall, a very good stay at the hotel, wonderful staff, excellent food.

We have just been to this hotel from 9/10-16/10. Upon arrival which was at about 1:30am we were told by the man at reception that he couldn’t check us in as the internet was being slow and computer had froze, we were told to come back in the morning and were given our wristbands etc - fine. I asked him politely if we could get a drink to which he said the bar had closed - obviously!! I asked if we could just get some water then as we hadn’t had a drink since we left England and my 3 little ones were gasping! Eventually he gave us some bottles of water and we went to bed. The hotel doesn’t provide any water or drinks for the hotel room, you have your drinks at breakfast - to which the apple juice actually dispersed water at one point which was just awful tasting! And that is it until the bar opens at 11am which I don’t think is very good at all. The food selection wasn’t the best and with fussy eaters in our family - my children barely ate, in fact we had to spend almost 200 euros whilst there just to buy snacks and food out because we were quite literally starving! The food bit at the pool is ok but again having to eat in one area where there isn’t enough seating anyway is just annoying when people want to eat at different times and you have multiple family members all doing different things. They often ran out of ice cream which was frustrating in the heat. You have to pay extra for pizzas outside as well.. the entertainment was ok but didn’t start until late which isn’t ideal, the two best nights we had were the Disney characters and the magic show on the last night - which again didn’t finish until 11pm and we had to be up at 2am for our transfer. One night we had a sit down magician and that was it, kids having to run around and entertain one another in silence - no music nothing, we were completely bored and were in the room by 9pm! The pools are great with a variety for all ages and plenty of loungers - but they were freezing! You just had to make the most of it. Big floats aren't allowed in the pools so don’t buy any! The loungers could do with being checked and wiped down as some had bird crap on which isn’t pleasant! The shops nearby are ok but be careful as some will overcharge you, beach was nice but can be a bit of a bad walk on your feet. Not really close to anything in the area so not the ideal location if you want to be busy. The festival with all the different cultural dancing was good. No local shops stock nappies or pull ups over a size 6 and also charge almost £12 for them too so make sure you’re prepared! The room was cleaned every day and beds changed, towels changed and toilet roll restocked but we had 4 main towels for a family of 5?! Not sure how that works when they know how many occupants will be in the room for the duration. Don’t like the room layout at all - both double beds pushed next to each other and then a single bed in the corner so we’re all on top of one another, again no privacy in the room either. No securit

The sink had cracks in it. Food was good. Pools great for the kids but when it came to bed time you can get to sleep but then around 0200-0300 you had young kids and adults making loads of noise banging on doors and even trying to get into our door. We complained to reception who said will look into cctv but can’t do anything. Couldn’t even offer any compensation ie upgrade for inconvenience as none of us can sleep once woken up

We arrived at 1.30ish in the morning and I was surprised by a group of young teenagers being loud at the arcade machines. I came here with my partner and our 2 children (11 and 2). There was no one at reception when we arrived and we waited at least 10 minutes before a man arrived, at this point I wanted to get checked in quickly to get my family to bed. He was going super slow and kept tutting at how slow his computer was. In the end I agreed to come down in the morning to show passports etc so we could go to bed. Got to the room, liked what we saw (only disappointment was 2 double beds, I shared with 1 child, partner shared with other). Unfortunately no tea or coffee making facilities in room, couldn't get a cup of coffee until breakfast. Shower was lovely and huge. Breakfast was my favourite meal each day, lots of the same foods for lunch and dinner and started to get bored towards the end of the week. Dinner was awful as there was queues and a lot of people obviously thought they didn't need to queue and just pushed ahead of everyone. Fresh fruit and salad available which was nice. Pools: my eldest loved the pools and was in them all day. Youngest got as far as his bum in and didn't want to go back in at all as was too cold. You can get snacks at the bar outside but you have to eat them in the picnic area, which was always full and didn't have any shade. It was lovely lying out on the sunbeds. I like that nobody was out early reserving sun beds Noise: it's a very noisy hotel, children and adults shouting at all hours down the corridor. Didn't hear nightclub as was at the other end of the hotel. Woken up nearly every night. I appreciate this isn't the fault of the hotel, just inconsiderate guests. We didn't attend the entertainment as it was on too late for the children and we enjoyed going out exploring the local area (beautiful area). However we did join in with a couple of day time activities (foam party, parrot photos) and my boys enjoyed them. We don't get picked up until 830pm on our last day and we have to check out at 10am but can use the facilities until we leave which is great This is a review of our holiday, there was good bits and bad bits but my boys enjoyed themselves and that's what matters. It was nice getting away from rainy England and having a week in the sun. Would I return? Yes probably but would not do all inclusive would probably go half board.

We're do I start?? Probably with the fact I'm not a fussy person and I've stayed in 2 star hotels... We arrived all seemed to go well... Check in was easy enough Hotel room was with a pool view room We went on to th balcony and it was dirty with pringles and dirt on the floor,didn't bother us at all. The pool and slides was so fun but the bar staff were as friendly as a wasp being attacked!!! The entertainment all week had 1 good night the rest was not for children. Day 2 my husbands expensive trainers were left by a lounger and the life guards took them, this seems like a big assumption but people in the hotel had said that a certain life guard lifted them!!! When we told reception they didn't care, kept saying we'll check the cameras which they never did. We weren't the only people to have things took, a ladys jacket was took addidas flip flops and other things even from the rooms which personally I didn't experience. There was an incident were my son was insulted in a life by a Spanish women who was drunk, again the hotel didn't care, I asked for the police to be called and I was told no. My son wasn't messing or being rude to this lady. I've been on alot of low budget holidays and this holiday was an expensive one as a treat and I'm sorry to say I wish I didn't bother. So to round things up, they are thefts, they have zero costumer services, the entertainment would be the last of your worries. Would I go back if they offered me a free all inclusive holiday??? NO
