Had a steak that was like rubber on Friday night. Told them and they were apologetic. The next night went back and had a burger, which was ok, but they would not serve us a dessert for some reason, even though others were having one. When this was questioned with the bar staff another bar staff member was rude and took the mickey out of us. We had spent £250 there over the two days, in the bar, so we were quite appalled by their behaviour. Would not go back and be treated this way. We had been nothing but polite and quite apologetic that their food was bad! Disgusting way to treat customers.

After walking the malham loop with my son we chose this place for some light snacks, at 12 noon the pub was already getting busy, we went for the wing sharer and the honey glazed chipolatas. The food was fresh and extremely tasty and the lady who served us was very helpful even bringing lemon water to wash our hands after the wings, clean toilets and helpful staff.

I stayed here because my partner was running the GB Ultra and it was a super convenient location. We had read the old reviews so we weren't expecting much but the new owners have done a great job. The pub itself is clean and well presented with great customer service, especially from Alex. We had some food on our first night and it was refreshing to be vegetarian and not having to have some variation on vegetable curry. Food was lovely. The room itself was much better than expected as well. Comfy bed, clean bathroom, modern amenities but still felt in keeping with the building. My absolute favourite thing was the milk fridge in the hallway so you could have fresh milk with your tea and coffee. Not those little UHT pods :) Overall a great stay. The team are lovely and so is the venue. I would highly recommend The Buck Inn.

Visited here on Monday 14th April on a reopening night under new ownership, newly refurbished and lovely bar, great atmosphere, great beers and spotlessly clean, bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, will be back next time I am in the dales to test out the menu.

Can't even describe the room as we never saw it. We booked an overnight stay Fri 14th March and on arrival found the pub closed up and in middle of a refurbishment. Absolutely disgusted that they were happy to take our money on 10th March without any notification of refurbishment and potential closure. Seemed to be common knowledge in the village that the pub was closed. Thankfully found alternative accommodation which was much nicer. Won't ever bother to go back to The Buck Inn but will head straight to Lister Arms next time we visit Malham. What a way to run a business!

Visited the Buck this week the main part of the pub seem to be closed and the only part open was the bar to the right hand side of the building as looking at it from the front and I have to say this Room was shabby tatty and unwelcoming, it was also quite dirtyWe wanted coffee but were told that they did not do hot drinks. We then settled on an alcoholic drink but drank and left quite quickly I personally would not return.

A group of 11 of us with four children went for food on 29 December. We booked with only a days notice, the pub rang to confirm our booking and advised it would be just roasts available for a large group, with short notice and limited staff. This wasn’t a problem for us at all. The guy serving us was exceptional (sorry we didn’t catch his name). He was incredibly busy but was running round giving great service - no request was too much. The food was great. Thank you and thanks for making a fuss of the little ones!

The only good thing was a comfy bed. Water pressure bad, green stuff around the loo fixtures and a worn room. That I can cope with although the price could have reflected better! The apparent manager needs an education in hospitality! He can not of been more anti hospitable. He is more of a door man than a welcoming host. Obviously doesn't like dogs or people. The pub was empty on Xmas eve! The lovely pub across was full to bursting. The Buck Inn only had a small section of the pub open which says a lot, obviously not expecting any custom. The web site said it was fully booked which also was not true as we and my parents were the only ones there staying? This would be perfect if it was run by someone who cared!
