Best bachelor ever!! 😍😍 I knew that whenever I go with my besties I'd have an amazing time but Mutsis Rinela was something special... It's really worth it. Beautifull hotel, delicious food, amazing staff in each restaurant and unforgettable memories. I'm gonna bring my future husband here next year! Thank you for an amazing time!

I have been visiting Matheo on my visits to Crete for a number of years. This year I was greeted by a wonderful lady called Irene, after trying their menu and enjoying a day by the pool I was interested in trying their buffet available every day at the hotel. Hands down one of the nicest selection fresh tasty food I’ve had in Malia. Service 10/10 and the food to match. Irene made sure I was satisfied as she always does. I already can’t wait to return another day. Thank you from a very happy customer

The hotel pool and restaurant were stunning; I can't deny that. The breakfast buffet was absolutely lovely as well. There weren't as many options at dinner, but it was still okay. That's about all this hotel has going for it, to be honest. The hotel really is in the middle of nowhere with the nearest shop being a 15 minute walk up hill with no foot paths (not ideal in 35° heat). There really ought to be a shop within the hotel premises. The hotel has a strange layout. Upon arrival, we were shown to our executive room, which was the furthest from the hotel pool and restaurant. Initially, the room seemed modern, but it lacked certain basic necessities that you would expect from a 4-star hotel. There was no full-length mirror, the curtain was not large enough to cover our terrace door nor were they blackout curtains, and the air conditioning was not great and could only be used while we were in the room as it required a special metal key to activate. Room service was not great either. For a 4-star hotel, I would expect it every day, but we only had it 3 times during our 7-day trip. Towels were an issue as well. On the day of our arrival, the wet room shower flooded due to inadequate drainage, and we had to use our towels to clear it up. Later the following day, while I was walking through reception, I was rudely beckoned by a lady with glasses at the reception desk. "You, girl, come here," she said. She asked me what she was supposed to do with a bag of our towels, insisting she couldn't clean them (they were perfectly clean, just wet). I explained that our shower was broken, and instead of sending someone to fix it, she told me to inform someone else. This was extremely uncomfortable, as it happened in front of other hotel guests. This same lady also had a heated altercation with who I assumed was her young son right in the middle of reception. He stormed out of the hotel and sped off on his motorbike. This should not happen I don’t of paying hotel guests. In this hotel, you charge items to your room. Every time I went to the bar to do so, the staff would laugh among themselves about what I had said, almost as if there was some sort of inside joke. Although I found most of the staff to be passive-aggressive, the older lady with dark hair, who said she was in charge of the restaurant, and two other young girls were very lovely and nice to chat with. Check-out is at 10 am. This was not clearly advised anywhere apart from in the lengthy book in our room with hotel information. We headed straight to reception at 10:30 am after realising that check-out was at 10 am, as we had assumed it was the standard 11 am. This is very early, considering that on the days room service did arrive, it wasn't until after 3 pm! We were then charged a €10 late fee, even though the book stated €7. When my friend challenged this, he was told it had changed. This payment was also cash only. Other lack of facilities that you would expect from a 4-star hotel which were n

5/5 all round, me and my partner stayed here on the 8th July - 16th July in room 1205 , upon arrival we were greeted by a very nice man that collected our suitcases and brought us into reception to meet a woman that gave us the run down of the hotel, our package, where things are etc. All of the reception staff were brilliant and so helpful one of the reception staff that stood out for us was Elena and her team that she worked with she was so polite helpful and welcoming, thankyou. The reception staff assisted and helped us in an altercation that we were involved in on our leaving day due to the transfer arriving extremely late in which they helped and assisted us so much which we were very grateful for. Breakfast was perfect which consisted of a variety of foods, cakes and drinks again all of the workers were brilliant and very accommodating throughout but the whole time in our stay we really picked up on service and how helpful the waiters Gobi and Desponia was. These two need a real praise, especially Gobi he was so polite, kind and always good to have a chat too he was our favourite worker throughout our stay at King Minos and want to thank him for being so good at his job, same goes for Desponia. Lunch and dinner again were very enjoyable and had a variety of foods including pies, pizza, pasta, chicken dishes and cakes, however my partner and I both agreed that there needs to be more ‘ picky bits of food ‘ such as easy food including burgers, variety of pizzas, sausages and sausage rolls and more. Be regardless all of the food that we tried was very flavoursome cooked the right way and had no concerns. Overall our stay at King Minos was brilliant and can not fault this hotel one bit as they looked after us and were exceptional in helping us two and everyone else that stayed here. All workers were very polite and kind and never once had a problem. If we had an issue with something and raised it then the staff would do everything to try sort this such as requiring an extra pillow etc. Finally all of the cleaners were extremely respectful and nice people one cleaner that stood out for us was Uwana she would respect when we would want the room cleaned and not. Thankyou to all of the King Minos Retreat and Spa staff you was a please and we will be back! Kind regards, Cydney and Hadley

The hotel staff are amazing. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Everyone greeted us with a smile and were so polite and friendly. From the minute we walked through the door we were greeted with a smile, laugh and a good joke. I would definitely come back again! Thank you so much, especially the restaurant/bar staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nice hotel but unpleasant experience with one of the owners. First night we didn't have any towels in the room. Buffet was ok minus, but what can you expect from a buffet. Charging the rooms on a credit card where the owner of the credit card is not staying at the hotel, should not be allowed. If you are going to charge the rooms you should always speak with the guests first. When checking out of the hotel one of the owners said that house cleaning needed to check if the rooms were alright. I have never experienced this after checking out of a hotel. When house cleaning came back to her, she said there was a cup missing. We didn't use any cups, so I thought it was weird how "we lost" it. I told her I didn't know how it got lost, and she replied saying "Oh, you probably broke it". Treat your guests as guests, not as kids. These were only a few of the instances where I had to argue with one of the owners (the ladies). The term "customers are always right" goes out the window at this hotel. It's clear to me that this hotel is managed by a family and not professionals.
