We drove all the way from London to WHATLEY MANOR, the location is really rural bit quiet. IT IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL MANOR SINCE 1929. We booked a suite room and upgraded to extra single bed for my son and cost 150£, which is considered very expensive. We booked for 2 nights and it cost us 1500£, [ breakfast included ] in my opinion is very pricey for this location. I think their selling points are spa, sauna, thermal room , hydro pool but for Asian , it is too common for us.The beds are very comfortable, room is very spacious and cozy, provide good quality amenities. They have really beautiful garden good for walking and reading books. Beside price, everything is good.

Wonderful hotel, every detail taken care of. We were upgraded to a gorgeous suite and everything about it was super-comfortable and luxurious which made the whole weekend very special. We had lovely breakfasts and dinners. Breakfast has a small cold buffet area but staff were accommodating to bring for example cherry tomatoes and you can order hot food which was delicious. Good coffee! We also had dinner on our first night in the main restaurant which I preferred over the second night when we went to the 1* Michelin dining experience the following night. The Michelin restaurant is pared down decor and although the food was creative, served beautifully and delicious, I just prefer a more casual dining experience but that's just my personal taste. There's a gorgeous lounge with open log fire and we also had a delicious lunch of soup and sandwich here on Saturday. The lounge is a lovely cosy place to sit and read and chill. We also did a mat Pilates class on Friday and it was great! The spa massage was fantastic too. Highly recommend a visit (as a treat because it's not cheap but for the weekend getaway we wanted it was perfect).

Building very impressive and with some history. Facilities excellent (no aircon) grounds well maintained and very beautiful. Service very pleasant attentive and done with ease. Food in the Greys restaurant is simple not exciting but on Selected days the menu is augmented with more interesting dishes. 4 days a week The Restaurant is open and has a more ambitious menu. On Selected days the "Experience " would be choice. In my opinion this turned out to be contrived and not value for money, but that's my take on it.

We were very fortunate to stay for a night and have a taster menu in the evening. We hired a classic car for 24 hours, an Alfa Spider from Vintage Classics in Melksham, and the whole experience was perfect. The room was stunning, overlooking the entrance courtyard, he grounds were beautiful and the spa delightful. After a walk and a swim came dinner. There were 10 of us, split 6 and 4 and the constant innovative stream of mini courses was a delight to the taste buds. Finished off with a whisky in the bar at midnight. Would highly recommend.

Absolute quality from the moment you pick up the phone to order to the moment you leave the restaurant. The food is second to none and always a good selection to choose from. The staff are always very polite, friendly and have good knowledge of all dishes we asked about. I absolutely love the place, we can’t wait to go back again and I would recommend it to anyone! Thank you once again for a fantastic evening!

We have visited this establishment many times and it is invariable first class. Today was no exception, but of course it should be of a very high standard as the price is not cheap. Today we popped out for afternoon tea and a few photos with our classic car. As always the staff were excellent and very helpful The ambiance was, as always, without blemish. My only criticism was for the afternoon tea. The first coffee I was served was luke warm, but our waitress Natasha replaced it with one that was pipping hot. The rest of the meal was a bit of a curate's egg (excuse the pun). A couple of the finger sandwiches were slightly dry, the clotted cream very solid (just out of a very cold fridge?), the scones possibly not fresh, the portion of excellent home made jam rather small, otherwise fine. At £31.90 per person for normal afternoon tea (no fizz but included the 10% service charge), I would have expected perfection. We got that on previous occasions, but not this time.
