Inn on Main Hotel

My wife and I had a two night reservation this past weekend. We had a family emergency and could not make the trip. The hotel requires full payment up front. Spoke with the owner about the scenario and I wanted to simply move the dates out one week. He said that would require a new reservation and the money paid for the missed reservation was not refundable and moving the dates one week out would need a new reservation and payment up front again. He was militant about this non-refundable policy inside 7 days. Did not have any remorse about my situation and was not willing to meet in the middle or negotiate at all. Can't recommend this hotel as they have no human heart for family emergencies. Again, I was not asking for a refund. Just a simple date change. Wow!

Listen to the other 1 star reviews - I did not and had a horrible experience. First of all, the safety egress to the hotel was not marked properly and in the event of a fire - could really been an issue. I had to call the number and they told me to use the other door - even though it was marked improperly. Then, on the second night walked into a major gas leak - had to call the police / fire department - was not allowed to come back to the hotel until hours later (after they fixed the leak and aired out the building). While I am extremely grateful to the police and fire department for saving the day - I left as I was not comfortable to stay given the situation and the person you communicate with using the number they gave - refuses to give me a refund. I have asked politely several times and they say they are asking the restaurant below to give me the refund? At the time of this review, they have not given me a refund and are not returning my request for update. I was made to leave the hotel, stay away for several hours, come back to an empty place with every window and door open (airing out the place), and they refuse to give me a refund. There are so many choices - go find another.

My husband and I reserved the entire hotel for out-of -own guests attending our daughter's wedding on September 24th. Our guests (all of the bridesmaids and my two brothers, their wives and their adult children and spouses) have raved about their lodging experience at Inn on Main. Our new son-in-law stayed there the night before the wedding and the photographer and videographer came to his room for pre-wedding work with him. The bride and groom stayed there the night of and night after the wedding. So....I think I can provide a fair assessment of the property! Our guests found the inn to be a warm home base, incredibly convenient between PPB, Spring Lake and Brielle and comfortably and attractively furnished. Luckily we had a gorgeous weather weekend. People were busy with the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and meet and greet Friday and the wedding on Saturday.....so they were not spending hours in their rooms.....but I doubt anyone does, who is visiting the Jersey Shore for its sights and fun. They spoke very highly of the Inn, with absolutely no complaints. They all said it was a wonderful lodging experience. and I received my deposit back (for reserving the entire inn for the wedding) promptly. Highly recommend!

My hubby and I stayed at Inn on Main when we were down for a wedding in Spring Lake (10 min drive). The location is perfect - walking distance to all the shops and restaurants on Main St in Squan. We didn't go to the beach but looks like it would've been a 20 min flat walk thru a pretty neighborhood. We stayed in Room 202 and loved it! Looked brand new and had everything we needed. Waters in fridge were a great touch. Bed was very comfortable. For the most part room was very clean - there was a clump of hair on the shower floor but we understand these things happen. The only real negative of this place - you can't check into your room early, even if it's clean, without paying a $50 fee, as the keypads are automated and programmed to switch over at a certain time. (There's no front desk.) I'm 5 months pregnant and it would've been really nice to check in early to rest before the wedding, especially because it was clean and empty - but I didn't want to pay extra after splurging on the room. Just know the policy does not seem to be flexible. Other than this quirk, everything was wonderful and we'd absolutely stay again! Highly recommend!

I stayed at this hotel over Memorial Day weekend as I was attending a wedding. There was a USED SEX TOY underneath the bed in our room. When we called the help line, the owner (Val), was dismissive and rude. Instead of offering to send a cleaning crew or even apologizing for this obscene oversight, he told me that I shouldn't be calling him at 12:30 AM, that I was rude and that he was terminating my stay. I had to submit a better business bureau claim to get any sort of apology (which was a cheap bottle of prosecco vs. comping the room for the night). As you can see by many of the negative reviews, Val is really not cut out to work in the hospitality business. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want to find USED SEX TOYS in your room and then be told you should just check out instead of having management deal with the issue. Absolutely disgusting.

There is no way to contact a human to ask questions. The customer service is awful. Messages are not returned. If you need any help you are not able to get it. Please book somewhere else. We need assistance Re handicap access and it’s pulling teeth to get answers.
