AHG Donna Silvia Wellness Hotel

Not a good hotel in any meaningful way and located in one of the least charming areas of Lake Garda: we stayed here because Trailfinders recommended it and I would never go back. The rooms are bare, the bathrooms are poky and completely lacking in storage space. The communal areas of the hotel are miserable. The only place with decent wifi is the reception, which is bleak. The area around it is utterly lacking in any interest - mainly big lakeside campsites and cheap hotels. The ferry to go to more interesting parts of the lake is a drive away from the hotel - there's nothing within walking distance. If you want to relax by the pool, bring earplugs for the euro pop and be prepared to walk across the car park to get to the small swimming pool, assuming there's a lounger free. Utterly strange landscaping surrounds the hotel - it's marooned in a sea of cobble lock paving. The staff were doing their best but if we had been staying longer than three nights we would have gone elsewhere. Three nights felt like more than enough.

I went here with my family, all the personal was amazing, I had a very special moment with my family, and there is also a bar so close and a disco, the lake is at the final of the street, so I think was perfect, I’ll came back for sure, thanks for all.

This hotel was recommended by Trailfinders and we took this to be okay. This hotel is not a 4 star hotel. It’s clean and the staff are super friendly! The pool is a great addition but rooms and accessibility are poor. The bath room is out dated and the shower is tiny, and in our room lack ventilation. There is not enough sockets in the room or even a usb charger by the bedside. The door access cards can be heard from other rooms on the same floor and the doors need to be slammed to close them. We were offer a complimentary drink upon arriving which never turned up and our room wasn’t available till 3 pm. But essentially and above all else unless you have a car or a boat expect to pay a small fortune in taxis, this is a remote location and other than walks along the lake side where there are a few restaurants and some cafes of which are all nice and family friendly, there ain’t a lot to do with out a means of getting there. Fine if that’s what your looking for and it is fairly quiet. The odd boat/jet ski noise. The on sight attached restaurant(Osteria Della Pieve) is hit and miss, we ordered a meal that basically never showed up and they didn’t bother to even tell us that the order had been lost. Staff seemed more interested in talking to fellow Italians at other tables. Far better restaurants by the lake.

We've been staying here for three nights as part of a 10-day multi-lake holiday we booked at the Dutch ANWB. We were staying with two kids (14 and 11) in a huge apartment with kitchen that offered a loft with two separate beds with airconditioning, a separate bedroom closed off by double doors and a separate airconditioning unit, all arranged around a square and overlooking a nice restaurant. Pros: * Has a full kitchen with cooker, refrigerator and separate freezer * Simple bathroom with shower and toilet. There's no separate toilet. * Has a huge balcony with a full lounge set and two separate loungers. Also has a big foldable drying rack. * You get a welcome drink (juice or Prosecco) * Extremely friendly personnel * Pretty clean but needs some maintenance here and there. * Two very quiet airconditioning units that keep the entire apartment nice and cold * Free parking outside as well as in an underground garage (although there were limited spaces because of some leakage) * If you book half board, breakfast is served in the hotel itself and pretty decent. Dinner is provided through an adjacent restaurant which has a great atmosphere. Cons: * There's no separate toilet, so with two older kids, that can be challenging. * Wifi is pretty bad and really needs an improvement. * The inner doors creak and are difficult to open without waking up everybody. * The apartment has an old-fashioned key chain. But you can leave them at the reception, so you don't have to carry them around. * They offer a decent three course meal, but no dessert. You can ask for it but have to pay for it. If you feel for dessert, better go to the ice cream / cocktail bar at the other side of the square. It has more choices and is cheaper. * The shower had some old sanitation kit that looked like it had mold on it, but it was just discolored.
