The hotel's prime location near amenities and the main highway offers convenience. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and rooms, enhancing their stay. The proximity to the University of Kansas is also a plus.

The hotel is very close to the University of Kansas, has a large parking lot, and the swimming pool and surf pool are very good and relaxing. The room was clean and tidy.

When we arrived at the hotel late at night after a long drive from Denver, the hotel looked deserted. While checking in a sign stated they would be converting the hotel to a Doubletree. I asked the front desk and they said it would change over sometime in December. We were assigned room 254 and told to drive around the building, but not to go to door B because the card-reader was not working there. We were told to go to door A. We got there, unloaded our whole car and went to the door where the key-reader did not work. So we then had to load everything back into the car and drive to the main entrance again to access our room. While walking through the atrium, the strong smell from the floor adhesive permeated the air. we had to walk across where the old carpet had been removed to get to our hallway and walk through the sticky floor. Once we got in our room (around 12:30 am) tried to use the outlets to charge our phones, only to find out that outlets by the bed and the countertops did not work. The room contained two refrigerators, no outlet cover on the bathroom light switch, no toilet paper holder, (it was just sitting on the sink), no hand soap to use at the bathroom counter (we had to use body wash from the shower to wash hands), we set the heater on 70, but it never got above 68 even when we awoke in the morning. I went to the front desk that morning to let them know the issues we had while staying there, the first thing they asked "did you tell us this last night, they would have switched us rooms", I told them no because It was so late I didn't want to have to pack all of our belongings for just the one night. All they were willing to offer me was a free breakfast or a drink from the cooler, I asked to talk to the GM, but Kyle was not in yet and they did not know when he would be. They were going to have him contact me about my stay. it has been 2 days now and I still have not had any phone calls from him. When booking this hotel, no where was I made aware that it was under construction or we would have found a different hotel to stay at. I do now know who would have said that hotel was completed and ok to stay in. Stay at a different hotel if you can.

I was shocked when I arrived. My room was on a wing that was being completely renovated and NONE of the rooms on any of the floors were being used (except for mine). We had to walk by all the rooms that had their doors open and being redone. The base boards had all been pulled away from the walls in the hallway. The hallway and elevator were a complete mess! At the end of the first floor the door was open with a semi truck looking at us. It was extremely loud with construction workers everywhere. Our room was at the very end of the second floor and the lights did not work, the fridge had never been used nor was plugged in (still had tags on it), the furniture had tags on it. There’s even a sign in the room that says nothing works. The room had the overpowering smell of paint. The room overlooked the piles of furniture they were hauling out. It was like we had landed on Mars. I have never seen a hotel in that shape. When I asked to move, they said they had no other rooms nor could they get me another in town. They offered me a room on the third floor but prefaced it with "its in even worse shape"....Now that is hard to imagine. ? They offered me free drinks and an appetizer. Sorry but lights in my room are a little more important. I hope you find this as appalling as I do.

The only good things I can say about this hotel are that the lobby was pretty and the front desk staff were understanding and very helpful. That is were it ends. If you are given room 119 just say "No Thank You" and get a new one. We saw that there was construction going on once we walked in. I was not that concerned but as we started walking down the hallway there was an overwhelming Febreeze type smell. We got to room 119 and opened the door. The first thing you are hit with is the smell (mildew) and then it hits your eyes and your throat. I have allergy based asthma and immediately could feel the lump in my throat. I turned on the light and there was one lamp by the bed and one in the corner, no desk, no other lighting. I can see why because the room is disgusting. I opened the "pool view" room door to a hallway full of laundry stacked to the ceiling. We stayed in this room approx 5 min and walked to the front desk to let them know it would be impossible to stay in it. They were very accommodating and gave us room 129. A person who was working on the renovations and standing at the front desk talking to the hotel staff let us know that it probably wasn't the room that smelled but the dust in the hotel due to the work. I said that it smells like mildew so if dust from renovations smells like mildew, then so be it. Now the reason I know the lighting was terrible and what was missing was because room 129 has a desk, a lamp on it, bright lights on the vanity and two other lamps. This room looked better but didn't really smell much better. I couldn't tell if this was just remnants from the other room or not. We had to run to Target real quick and while we were shopping we all agreed we would not be able to sleep in that room. We went back to the hotel and checked out. I then booked my 4 night stay at the Comfort Inn by the iHop and it was great!

Four Points Sheraton Manhattan, Kansas Management—Absolutely abhorrent (that means “disgusting”) protocol to falsely accuse and charge an extra night due to incompetence (another big word for, “unable to do one’s job”). Check-in process was a disaster and didn’t get a room until 10pm. During checking-in, a gentleman came back down to let the front desk know that someone was already in his room. Which, leads me to believe, that the accusation of my belongings still being in my room (which they were in fact on an airplane over Texas) were from the next guest who checked in. That may have been because I checked out by 8am to make my flight two hours away in Kansas City. Maybe that gave housekeeping ample amount of time to clean and turn the room for the next guest. The manager did show her cards about this scam they’re pulling for all of us who booked with a third party: “there is no receipt we send you at check-out since you used third party.” Therefore, there is no proof of you actually checking out, and opens the door for them to say you left items behind and then charge you another night. I’ll certainly be reporting this to the BBB. Unbelievable that you’d rather swindle another night’s charge and use housekeeping as a scapegoat. Or worse, use this tactic on customers using third party sites, during a game weekend (which the entire staff seemed flustered and couldn’t handle the influx of guests), to take advantage of a situation because you’re a large hotel in a very small market. Classy. Just because hospitality has the word hospital in it, doesn’t mean that your wait time should be like an ER (that’s an acronym for Emergency Room). This isn’t an indictment on all Sheratons, I actually am a Bon Voyage member and have stayed at plenty of locations—this is solely for the Four Points Sheraton in Manhattan, Kansas. Fellow guests—You’re better off staying in Junction City and making the trek, it’s a shorter than you’d expect drive. Thanks to the rest of Manhattan and the state of Kansas for the experience, you have a lot to be proud of; despite this embarrassment of an operation.

Employee barged into our room at 11 PM and than ran off surprised we were in there and didn’t explain herself and now front desk/management won’t reach back out for explanation and refund. They keep saying manager is busy or not there. Do not stay there.

My experience was very good. The hotel is being totally renovated and will be completed in October. The halls smelled fresh and clean and everything in common areas was clean and in good condition. My room was clean and also in good condition. The couch and drapes, wallpaper and paint looked so good, I thought it had been remodeled, but they told me it hasn't been, yet. Bed was comfortable and internet and A/C both worked well.

I cannot believe this is a Marriott property. We checked in and walked to the room. The pool is in the middle of the hotel. The halls smell like mildew. The rooms are dark and dingy. There was some storage of equipment by the pool with tarps handing over it. It looks very cheap that they didn't have doors hiding their mess. We should have left for a hotel downtown that is cleaner.
