The beachfront location provides a beautiful and tranquil setting. The staff is exceptionally friendly and goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome, with special mention for Julie and the reception team.

Our advice? Don’t stay here until others here post that desperately needed fixes have been made! Why? A beautiful location terribly let down by the stingy, miserable services delivered by unmotivated staff. Every day starts with a reminder. The continental breakfast is terrible. Attached photo is the nasty form in the room on arrival that warns what is to come. It’s like Oliver Twist. “Please sir, I want some more.” when the pathetically small serving of fruit is dispensed onto your plate. No self-service, no breakfast bar. The second daily reminder is to re-enter the WiFi password into iPhone/iPad. Only 1 GB for the duration of our stay. Ours ran out. The surly receptionist refused to provide a new password. On my objection (“We’re paying a huge amount for the overwater fale!”) she phoned the manager. “Nope” was the reply. Pay more if you want WiFi. As far as possible we walked 300 meters to the neighbouring Sinelei Reef Resort. Over there are enthusiastic happy staff. Free, no password, guest WiFi. Much cheaper and better presented food and beverage. Stay there!

What can I say? I wish I never had to leave. We booked the over-the-water Fale, “Tavita”. It was worth every penny! After booking I read some less than positive reviews about the resort and all I have to say is they are incorrect. There was absolutely NOTHING we didn’t love about our 4 day stay. The welcome, the friendliness of every single person you encounter - the front desk, the restaurant, the bar, the housekeeping and the Spa. Brian the owner is visible and interesting to talk to. We loved the sunrise and sunset! The pool and swim up bar was refreshing and fun. The use of snorkel and other water gear was convenient. Our room was one of my favorite stays ever - private, comfortable and just fantastic. We thought the food and drinks were priced appropriately and everything was fresh and delicious. I also had a massage at the spa and am so glad I did not skip this. The spa is beautiful and shouldn’t be missed. The Saturday night Fire Dancer performance was also exceptional and you can feel the pride the local people have in their culture.

Coconuts is a beautiful boutique resort with a picturesque setting with amazing ocean views. We stayed there for 5 nights and it was probably my favorite beach resort I have ever stayed in. It has a pool with a swim up bar, a nice restaurant and a nice beach. It’s not some mega resort with 4 pools, 6 restaurants. It has a little over 30 rooms and its size gives it its charm. The restaurant has good food and a large enough menu with daily specials so we dined there every night. Separate from the resort is a small beach shack bar/food place that is an easy walk if you want to leave resort. Samoa is not over touristed yet, it a very scenic island. The staff were all very nice, I could not recommend this place more, and the ocean views are amazing.

Me and my partner had stayed in the bungalows room at coconuts resort, which was extremely pricey, but had the most beautiful views for both day & night. We got to experience the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises from our bed, as well as seeing the full moon during the night as well. The bungalows were a little walk from the restaurant, so If youre thinking of wearing your best shoes/ heels to dinner, don't. It's quite a trek from the room through the sand, even a walk from the smaller rooms go through the sand, a walk from the villa to restaurant/ front desk provides a paved path tho. Not complaining, i quite liked the scenic walk :)) The food was also quite pricey especially the dinner menu. Our dinner honestly just tasted cheap/ defrosted almost. We had quite a variety of dinner options from the steak, to the snails, chicken and seafood and it just didn't really stand out for me, but the deserts were delicious. Lunch was pretty decent, & the paniolo breakfast was delicious. The performances were honestly the most in tune with the Samoan culture that I've ever seen. No speakers, no pre recorded voices, no microphones. Just song and dance through voice and movement. It was beautiful, as well as the siva afi. I've seen many performances at many resorts in samoa and theyre all somewhat westernised, but coconuts resort had portrayed the Samoan culture, in their own beautiful way. Speaking both in Samoan and English tongue, & including all guests to take part in the performance that night. We didn't really take part in the activities available other than snorkeling, but there was plenty there presented to us to choose from, from tours, to boat rides, kayaks, swimming with turtles etc. We mostly just enjoyed the view and warm sun most days. In conclusion, I'd most definitely recommend the bungalows to couples, the resort and views was absolutely stunning. It is on the pricey side but was most def worth it. Room comes with aircon, spacious fridge, tea and coffee station, very spacious bathroom sink area, beautiful deck outside with chairs and table, and more. Thank you coconuts resort for having us, will most def come again !

Very Disappointed!! The service was incomprehensible. We arranged in advance of our dietary requirements but every single day we had to remind the staff in the restaurant. The menu selection was simple but extremely over priced. You were told what you couldn’t have, rather than what was available. E.g. No Lobster No Tuna No Strawberries We had to wait up to 20 minutes for our meal. E.g Poached eggs on toast. We received poached eggs on bread! (Not toasted). We had to ask for cutlery. They were so miserly with their fruit portions in the continental breakfast, it was a joke. For goodness sake they grow coconuts and paw paw on the side of the road, yet we got a slither. We had to ask for tea, coffee, sugar, milk for our room. Every single day! The towels were threadbare. The room floor was dirty. The resort was in disrepair, old and shabby. I will be telling our travel agent of our experience. A couple of the staff were good but most of them were not very friendly and miserable. We felt we were a burden to them. We tried to stay positive about our experience but each day brought a new disappointment. The only highlight was swimming with turtles. I feel vindicated in my comments after reading previous comments.

What a fantastic location and resort layout. Most staff were pretty good and were making an effort during our 9 day stay. That’s where the good stuff ends! Don’t be fooled by the photos - the place is run down. We paid 5-star prices but were staying in a 2-star resort. I would have been perfectly happy with a 3-star resort where the staff lay around in the reception, the pool stayed green all week with grit and sand in the bottom, the room cleaners enjoyed our couch while we were on the beach - but not when we were paying 5-star prices. The owner/ manager inherited the resort from daddy and was a complete amateur host. He just didn’t care, was not open to suggestions or criticism and generally had no clue what a resort experience is supposed to be like. The resort has so much potential but it is broken, shabby and neglected - which is fine but not for the money we were charged. The food from the in-house restaurant was pretty good but the penny pinching contract you are required to sign on arrival stating the extreme limits on our pre-paid breakfast is a daily reminder that you are being screwed. We felt ripped off but had a lovely time despite the painfully inappropriate cost.

Great place for a family vacation at the beach in Samoa. The two bedroom bungalow was comfortable for 4 adults and a baby and located right on the beach with a porch overlooking the lagoon. You need to take the food option since thee are no restaurants in the immediaate vicinity (not including the chip stand next door). not really a problem since menu is extensive for a meal and generally very good - but pretty dated french influence(Steak Diane?). Service and staff very helpful and lots of excursions available. Too far from diving shops for scuba, but snorkeling just off shore pretty good. Turtles come into shore each high tide and you can swim with them every evening - a real thrill.
