"Dusty bed sheets. A bit of dust. The floor is dusty and scary. The bathroom shower is slippery. There's already a ditch in the middle of the bathroom, which looks like it was made as a temporary solution because the floor is the same height so the shower water pools and it's hard for the water to get into the drain. The avur doesn't have a lid so it's scary to be afraid that something will escape from the avur hole, the hole is big and big. Small children's feet can fit into it. So just be careful if you bathe small children there, because the floor is slippery and there are gaping holes in the dirt. Scary. Plus because of the city center location. So if you want to find food, just walk."

"Bad location, 30-40 min walk to the downtown area (Malioboro). Drivers will ask for 40-50K, argue for 30K or less. They speak English at the front desk so asking for help was easy. The room was simple, no toothbrush, no shampoo, only two power outlets (bring adapters), but had TV, WIFI, and spacious. Swimming pool was nice, breakfast was very good (toast, fruits, rice, noodles, vegetables and chicken on some days)."

"The boss was very caring. We booked a quadruple room on the first day. It felt good to stay for one night. Then we booked this quadruple room. We discussed with the boss and booked a double room for two nights. It is impossible in a general hotel. The four of us join hands to wish the boss family a fortune, the good people a safe and happy life!"

The staff here are so welcoming, friendly and accommodating.
ROOM:
- Beds and pillows are luxurious
- Shower pressure is strong
- Great variety of toiletries including a shaving kit
AMENITIES:
- Pool is great with a separate spa-like chilling area
- Snooker table that’s 15k rp a game.
- Gym is basic but sufficient with dumbbells up to 25kg
- Laundry service that does same day for 20k/ kg (outside in the driveway.
TRANSIT/ LOCATION:
- Easy to get a GRAB to and from the Tugu Train Station.
(Make sure you type in Alana Malioboro because there’s another Alana hotel 30 minutes in the other direction… speaking from experience here 😂🙈)
- Short and cheap GRAB to jl Malioboro, Keraton and other tourist sites.
- Walking distance to Jl Prawirotaman
- Lots of local food and bakeries close by.

The hotel pool provides a nice atmosphere, and they even gave a coupon for a discount at the restaurant. The room was fine, perfect for what I needed. The AC and water worked great and the Wifi was strong.

MMartinThe place is nice. Price is reasonable and comes with breakfast. The toilet is simple with only cold water but it's hot anyway so that's ok. It's not a hotel, is a home stay, so the owner lives in the house. He is nice. If you want to talk it's fine, if you don't he won't bother you. It's a very nice house. I would recommend a bit more cleaning and arranging things but in general I liked it and would come back.

- big clean bed with a good mattress
- good air-conditioning
- room amenities like a mini fridge and water cooker
- very friendly staff
Could be better:
- fresher looking towels
- more responsive water temperature controls in the shower.
- a chef that stays in the hotel during breakfast hours (breakfast is from 7-11, but the chef left before 10)
Bad:
- Any sounds from outside are just as loud in the room (mosque, rooster) because the windows can't close properly. Earplugs are advised.

NnitsreDont understand who gave good reviews for this homestay, maybe they stayed for the right price sufficient for this small house. Not worth more than 80K. I prefer to not review if not for few unprofessional issues. While booking this place, the price changed more than a few times from rupiah 120 to 250k. I never seen like this happen online bookings. So, i did not book. Many hours later the priice was down at 120k again. So, i booked.
Then, the owner sends twice long annoying emails and a shorter whatsapp message (attached herewith) asking for pre-arrival info, a very professional wriiten corporate style. I ignored since those just did not look right. Upon reaching the place - not a corporate guest house but a crampy old home, the owner came out slowly and then just talks to my wife completely ignoring me. He kept chatting. Not a likeable elder, a little tricky i felt.. The room was very small with a type of bed that is just good for a few hours sleep. No water bottles, tissues or new soap. Poor room lighting matched the purpose.
In the night one someone plays the TV so loud right next to the room for a long time until i requested him to lower volume. Almost midnight a few guests were tslking so loud right there for a long time knowing we were sleeping. We left early the next day.
