Property Description
Dramatic sustainable house designed for relaxed holiday living by Mapleton local Philip Boorman who has many awards for his outstanding Architectural work and furniture designs.
Located on the escarpment in the centre of the 125 acre site. This privileged isolation has allowed the house design to be opened to the expansive surrounding valley and mountains by the extensive use of timber framed bi-fold doors and windows. Solar panels generate the power supply and roof water is collected in tanks for filtered reuse within the home.
The original survey plan of 1904 noted:
"All the country here on shown is of an Extremely Rugged and Broken nature."
This rugged landscape has protected the area from encroachment by subdivisions for over 100 years, providing flora and fauna with largely undisturbed area for species listed as endangered, such as the Coxen Fig-Parrot and the Regent Honey eater, to thrive.

The photos on the website, good as they are, do not do the property justice. The house is in a stunning location. The house is also beautifully designed and has a very homely feel about it. It was also spotlessly clean. It is wonderful to be in a secluded spot but be close to town for supplies and a fantastic meal at the local pub.It was also good value which is a rare thing in this day and age.Thank you.

We loved our stay at the lodge. The location is so beautiful, stunning views and waking up to the sound of birds. Mary and Warwick were very responsive and helpful hosts.

Amazing house, amazing views! This is our third stay and we can say that we will definitely be back again. Communication with the owner was great, no issues whatsoever with check in and check out. 10/10!

There is something truly special about this property that you will not find elsewhere! Our fourth and certainly not final visit. Hosts are super helpful, and communicative. Thanks for another lovely stay! It's good for the soul :-)

Relax and silence
A real opportunity to shut down and turn off the mind. Love the solitude and lack of internet access etc

Peaceful weekend away with our pup
Our stay was seamless from the start. The host met us, waited for us to get takeaway and then showed us the property. The pictures don’t do it justice, we saw owl, wallaby and heaps of wildlife. It’s not fenced but that wasn’t a problem for our pup as there were no neighbours. The property had everything we needed and was in a great location. Definitely want to return!!
