Located on the escarpment in the centre of the 125 acre site. This privileged isolation has allowed the house design to be opened to the expansive surrounding valley and mountains by the extensive use of timber framed bi-fold doors and windows. Solar panels generate the power supply and roof water is collected in tanks for filtered reuse within the home. The original survey plan of 1904 noted: "All the country here on shown is of an Extremely Rugged and Broken nature." This rugged landscape has protected the area from encroachment by subdivisions for over 100 years, providing flora and fauna with largely undisturbed area for species listed as endangered, such as the Coxen Fig-Parrot and the Regent Honey eater, to thrive.
