We stayed 3 nights at this camp and did not want to leave!! We loved everything about this camp, the staff, the game drives, location, views are all so so amazing. Our guide Kisemei was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and great at spotting the animals. He was amazing and any one who gets him as their driver is very very lucky!! Within our first game drive we got to see wildabeast, giraffes & a baby one, 4 male lions together (which is so rare), a cheetah and we got so close to the elephants that I managed to get a selfie with one!! The location of this camp is just amazing, we spent hours after our game drive just sat along the river watching the hippos and even got lucky with a group of 4 elephants wondering down to come and have a drink. The tents are so lovely and spacious, providing you with shampoo, conditioner, bodywash & insect repellent. They have well enough space for charging cameras phone etc and we always had a hot shower!! The food was amazing and had plenty of options each meal time, with a 3 course meal for lunch & dinner!! They also provide you with your own water bottles that you can take with you when you leave & have water fountains in the main area so you can continually top up, whilst also providing water in the tents. They also have a tea & coffee stand in this area and you can grab a cup at anytime of the day! The staff are so lovely and we were so sad to leave this camp. This place is magical and we would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you to Karen Blixen camp & all the staff who made our trip so amazing!

Absolutely perfect. I recommend this place very highly. We have enjoyed 6 days in KBC and I cried when I left. All the staff are encredible. So dedicated - especially I will have to mention our safari guide Simon who is so dedicated, passionate about his job (and the animals) and willing to share his enormous knowledge and his enthusiasm is contagious . I will definitely be back. Been home for 2 days and miss everything badly….. the staff, the camp, the big cats - just everything. Everybody should visit KBC and Mara North. What I really loved is the love and respect for the animals. Ohhh I miss Karen Blixen Camp.

The pick up by the Masai guide in traditional outfit out our small plane was already an awesome welcome, within minutes we saw zebras, gnus and a cheetah. What a start. The tent room overseeing the river was really nice and cosy. We enjoyed the food and the service. We had great surprises with cocktails in the savannah at dusk and dinner in the wild as well. Jonathan was our guide for four days and was very helpful and knowledgable. We did the hot air balloon as well and it was magical.

This camp is in a stunning location on the Mara river with a resident hippo family . The camp staff were all charming, welcoming and the service was top notch, especially Solomon our server , Jacqui on reception, and Jackson our porter/security. The food was delicious and fresh with typically three options which seemed very generous given the few number of people at camp. The tents were spacious and thoroughly waterproof! Keep in mind it is cool at night so on game drives you will need layers! Our guides, Joseph and Kenneth went to, what felt at times, the end of the earth, to find animal sightings - and we saw everything but a leopard, and so many babies!! It was an absolute delight of a trip. Many thanks to everyone for giving our family an incredible holiday!

The views ,wildlife and staff at the camp are excellent. We went on a safari drive directly after landing at the local airstrip. We then had two drives per day while we were there. We saw Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Giraffe and lots of gazelle, bison and wildebeest. At the camp you can see Hippos grazing and elephant and giraffe getting a drink. The staff at the Camp could not do enough for you. My thanks to Francis (our driver), Geoffrey our meal waiter. We had massages and they were a good price and very good. All I can say is thank you Karen Blixen camp.

We are two fit and healthy Australian sisters in our 60’s and decided after visiting South Africa and Kruger in 2011 we would visit Rwanda to Trek and spend time with the Mountain Gorillas, and Kenya and Tanzania to experience games drives and follow the Great Migration hoping to see a crossing. We achieved it all and left Africa full of love for the country and its people. Karen Blixen Camp was a highlight and absolutely outstanding for our 3 night stay. The tent was so well equipped , and the beds so comfortable. We had everything we needed. The availability of hot water morning and evening was perfect. All the staff were welcoming and helpful together with our Masai escorts to and from the tent during the darker hours. All that was required was the ringing of a bell. The dining area overlooking the Mara River with the hippos in residence whilst the giraffes elephants and baboons visited. It was a dream come true! Our guide Lorna was very special. She was the only female guide, with 10 years experience her knowledge of the wildlife, birds and plants was exceptional. She handled the big Land Cruiser over rough terrain to make sure we were up close and personal with every form of Wildlife nature presented in the Mara North Conservancy. We were on a private safari so Lorna collected us from the Migori Airstrip and took us on a game drive on the way to the Camp. She was as excited as we were to find a cheetah for us. We had games drives morning and afternoon. Each time Lorna would ask “is there something special you would like to see” and then “let’s see what nature gives us” ❤️ We saw lions, giraffes, elephants, hippos, wildebeest, zebras, baboons, hyenas, jackals, impalas, gazelles, dik diks, so many birds, the Masai herding their cattle the beautiful colourful Maisai women and so much more. We had Sundowner drinks with the lions. Lorna took us back to the Migori airstrip to continue our safari. Karen Blixen Camp and Lorna will always have a special place in our hearts. I hope either I or my family will visit again. ❤️

This was our first safari and better than we could ever expect. We were greeted by James and Lorna at the Mara North airstrip as soon as we landed. They handed us a cold drink and just as we thought we were going to camp they took us on our first game drive, and from there we saw animals continuously for four days. James and Lorna were incredible guides, so friendly and knowledgeable. Arriving at the camp later we were greeted by more staff who helped us check in and explain everything about the place. You have the same roof attendant and waiter throughout the stay so you get to know them just like your guide. The tents you stay in are so nice. We only wish we had more time to relax in them. Overall, we saw every animal we hoped to see while doing it in luxury. Incredible stay and highly recommend. We hope to visit there again, and if we are lucky, some of the same staff will still be there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at this camp. The setting by the river was perfect for watching the hippos whilst having breakfast and lunch. The staff were all very friendly and professional. Our driver Francis went out of his way to ensure we saw as many animals as possible and his knowledge of the area and the animals was second to non. The bush breakfast and evening sundowners amongst the animals was an added bonus. We couldn’t have asked for anything more from our stay.
