It's a few years since we last visited Marari and I'm delighted to say it's as magical as ever. We were treated as returning friends and it was lovely to meet up again with those we had met on earlier visits and at other CGH properties. There is easy access to the beach and a wonderful mineral salt pool, great gardens, wildlife, and trees: not forgetting the mesmerising parliament of owls. If it's the personnel that make a place and holiday then Marari succeeds on every count. Everyone is professional and friendly and you are guaranteed a warm welcome and attention. Dining and food service is very good with a wide range of outlets with well cooked and presented dishes. Don't miss the daily afternoon chai wagon. Rooms are comfortable , light and airy,and serviced daily to a high standard. So thank you to everyone at Marari for making our stay so enjoyable and our home from home.

Fabulous resort with a lovely vibe. I wish I had chosen CDG Earth Experience for all of my stays in Kerala. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the rooms were much cleaner than at the Taj (Kumarakom), and it didn’t feel crowded at all.

We stayed at Marari Beach for four nights of relaxation at the end of our Kerala trip. The resort is spacious, beautifully located, with tropical plants and trees everywhere. The cottage rooms are cool and spacious with comfy super king beds, and a private outdoor shower room. We relaxed by the pool on sunbeds and really enjoyed the peace and tranquility of having no poolside music to disturb our reading and sunbathing - how refreshing. The buffet restaurant fayre is freshly cooked with cooking stations and eager staff keen to inform you about the ingredients. The restaurant itself is spacious and airy, with an extremely attentive team of waiting staff. One night we booked the farm kitchen experience, picking herbs and veg from the garden and learning how to cook local dishes - fantastic! We happened to be staying on All Saints’ Day (1st Nov) so popped over to St.Augustine’s Church to witness families gathering to beautifully decorate graves with flowers - a beautiful and memorable experience of the whole local community celebrating together. If I were to suggest something to improve the resort, I’d build a large shaded pavilion and a plunge pool right next to the beach, as the heat is so intense on the sands that nobody could spend longer than ten minutes there. I’d like to have seen some large shady umbrellas and sunbeds so that the beach could be used more by guests - after all the palm fringed, white sand beach is the star attraction of this resort’s location. It would be nice to sit and watch the sunset and the waves with a cocktail in hand… We found the staff at this resort less intrusive than in other hotels in Kerala which was great - more genuine and calmer in approach, albeit very attentive when you needed something.

Extensive grounds with coconut trees and exotic plants throughout. This is so large, everything is spread out and the large, thatched villas are widely separated. The rooms have an excellent choice of tea and coffee. The shower room is large and open to the elements. The pool is fantastic, with many sunbeds and plenty of shade. The grounds extend to the long, sandy beach, so it’s great to stroll around and take in all the beautiful surroundings. The restaurant has a huge range of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a particularly excellent buffet. We also enjoyed the beach cafe, with its small plate dishes and pizzas! We love CGH’s eco credentials, with an emphasis on preserving the natural environment. The daily owl-watch is amazing. There are many activities to get involved with, particularly the ayurvedic massage and yoga.

Coming back to MARARI beach was like coming home. The staff are the backbone of this place and the welcoming smiles that grace their faces when we place any request make us feel truly at home. The seafood grill we had was wonderfully made to accommodate our allergies and kudos to the chef for that.
